Hi guys
I usually get 0~3 wrong on the 35 q and 14 q section altogether, but my essay grades in my last two SAT have been 8's. I really would like to raise my essay grade to at least a ten, but my essay skills have not improved a bit.
Should I just work for a perfect zero on the sections or is there a way for me to raise my essay grade until my last October SAT?
Thanks guys

Try looking at examples of SAT essays that have done well to see what they are doing that you are not. The College board posts examples of real essays on their website with the scores they received and why so that you can use it to analyze your own work.

I don’t know how much prep you have put into improving your essay writing, but when you take it again, make sure you have no mistakes, spelling or grammar. Also try and use a personal and historical example in your writing. The readers like to see that you can connect the subject to you, but also that you can connect the subject to something that didn’t just happen to you as well.

Quoting books is often appreciated. This doesn’t mean you have to go memorizing books, but throwing in a literary example cannot hurt.

Lastly, make sure you have an introduction (with a hook) and a conclusion. The SAT wants to see the typical five paragraph essay, so stick to that model!

If you stick to the formula that should help you out!
