Hi guys,
I'm a homeschooled student, and I just sent off all my college apps. I just noticed something that is worrying me. When my mom was working on my home school transcript, everything she filled in was correct, except because I didn't get my subject test scores back when she was filling it out, she put some place holder scores for my subject tests. When I got my scores back, coincidentally, out of the 3 subject tests I took, 2 were exactly the same as the place holder scores my mom guessed, and one was completely off. The place holder score for that one was much high than what I actually got, , but neither of us remembered to go change the place holder score to the one I actually got until after we sent the applications out.
I did send all my subject test scores through collegeboard, so the colleges will receive the actual score. I was wondering if the wrong score on my home school transcript will cause any sort of damage, or will the colleges not even care about it.

Just email the colleges to double check, but they will probably just change the score based on the score report. But I would email so that they know you didn’t do it on purpose.

Thanks so much for the response. So I should just tell them basically like what I posted here?

Yes, just easily explain it like you did in the OP. Simple mistake they will understand.

I think you should keep it simpler–they don’t need the whole song and dance. Just say it was an error, provide the correct number, and apologize for any inconvenience.

Awesome. Thanks guys. I’ll send all the colleges an email asap.
