WTP Summer Program

Yay it's finally summer!! So so so happy this year is over.

And, only 8 days left!

8 days....ahhhhhhh I have so much to buy.

First day of summer and I have already burnt myself like a lobster. I'll never be packed in time. Can't wait to meet everyone that I've been talking to here for over 3 months!

I finished my last final today!!!!!!! So even though I still have 2 days of school left, it doesn't matter. I have nothing to do those days besides have parties and play cards in my classes.

8 days...oh my. I did some shopping today and bought all of two things. I just need to do a huge run at like...Target or something.

It's going to be so fun to meet all you guys next week. You're still all in EECS right? Nobody else in ME?? Either way I'll see everybody, but I haven't talked to anybody else in ME so I'm a bit nervous...

It IS going to be fun meeting everybody!

I haven't bought anything(except for the plane ticket) yet. 8 days is such a long time away! But I'll end up in a crunch the last two days and all of you will be relaxing and carelessly gazing at your newly bought, already nicely packed clothes.

midnightchild: weird! School after finals?

Yep...my mom and I went EVERYWHERE trying to find a nice shirt. For some reason or another, I haven't had a need for a dressy shirt/outfit for a while and neither my old shirts nor my mom's would fit me...so we spent about 3-4 hours just for that. But yeah, we're nearly at 7 days left! :D CanNOT wait! Sorry, midnightchild, I'm in EECS. I'm pretty sure we'll meet as a huge WTP group the first day, though!

I got sheets today! and this neat bag thingy to carry shower stuff in, and towels, and i started getting together stuff to pack.
Estoy emocionado.

I bought sheets a week ago or so, though I must say twin extra long is an annoying size. I went out today and I got a few shirts, I may shop tomorrow... I dunno though.

A week from this moment we'll all be unpacked and all comfy in the dorm...

Hmm...my mom doesn't really want to go and get more sheets. I hope full sized is OK if I just tuck the ends in under the mattress. It should work, right? And I got this huge purse (my old one's tiny and I've wanted a new one for a long time and now I had an excuse - "but mom, when we're walking around I don't want to carry all my stuff in my hands! I NEED a new purse!") which I'm really excited about, but it's a little TOO big...oh well, it was only like $9 (I love Target and their sales).

I love Target too :-) I actually think that I got my sheets there

I went on a Target shopping spree yesterday and got sheets, a bag, sunglasses, and a lot more but I can't really remember. Yay Target!

And yeah, I have school after finals, but only one day. Monday is another finals day, but it's periods 6 & 7 which I don't have finals in. Tuesday I have my last day of school, but there's no set schedule. Everybody just walks around finding out their grades and it ends at 11.

6 days! Now that school's "over" for me I'm really starting to get excited! Time to start packing...

Yeah, I went to Target and got sunglasses for $5.99. I thought they were a good deal and then went back yesterday and those same sunglasses were in the dollar section! Pshh! lol.

wow looks like ill have to try out this target place. i needed sunglasses so i got some really cheap at walgreens but i hate them. jk ive been to target but only like twice and a long time ago. but apparently its the cool thing to do. i should go tomorrow.

Target is a ten minute walk from my house! It's awesomely convenient for life needs...lol. I thought I already had my twin size sheet...but it's not EXTRA LONG and apparently the length matters... Need to go buy sheets.

Also, how dressy of an outfit are you all planning on bringing for the formal dinner? Nice skirt...or black dress?

hm i have a superrad dress i want to bring, just cuz i can. i leave FRIDAY night, i was thinking saturday. FINALS ARE SO DONE I SURVIVED. I went to Ross today and found hot cheap skirts and a pair of pink heels, so perhaps i go purchase them (nevermind the complete impracticality of both). i dont think i really NEED anything, except perhaps a small fan, but whatever. I'm gonna have 2 huge duffels of stuff because after being away for 4 weeks i will be going to visit some relatives for two weeks after. I went to europe for a month for an exchange last year, so 6 weeks shouldnt be too much weirder, just like prep for college!!! as for my sunglasses, i got really cool ones last summer for 7 euro, but they just broke, so i got new ridiculously large white ones :-). so rad.

For "dressy," I'm wearing a black skirt that's a little more than knee-length and a fairly nice white/cream blouse. My shoes are probably going to be a nice pair of sandals or something because I don't own any other shoes appropriate for summer and I don't think after my recent shopping sprees I can convince my mom to get anything more. So yeah...I like how we're going to an engineering camp and we're all busy discussing what we'll wear. :p

oh man listening to reaching talk about her superrad dress is reminding me of how much of a scrub i am. roughly 87% of my clothes consist of norwood mustangs apparel. dressed up clothes? do i know what that is? umm i have a few skirts... maybe ill just buy an outfit in harvard square, but that will undoubtedly be a bit funky. anyone willing to help someone with little to no fashion sense shop for a "dressy" outfit? theres a jasmine sola nearby i think but thats kinda expensive.

i have a desk lamp but it has a halogen bulb and my friends in college said most schools dont allow halogen bulbs, but i didnt notice anything about that in the packet. its not like a fire waiting to happen or anything so i think it should be ok. does anyone know if thats alright or should i just get a not halogen one?

My guess would be you could bring the halogen one since it doesn't say to not bring a halogen one. Then if it's not allowed, buy another in Cambridge?

By the way, did you guys respond to Ms. Skier's email? I didn't know whether to or not...

Haha, nobody's going to be inspecting your room.

Bring whatever you want. :)

Hmmm...my dressy outfit? Well I was maybe going to bring the dress I bought for graduation this year (...underformers girls needed dresses) because its really cute. But its bright green :-P and if everyone is wearing darker clothing I'm not sure its appropriate. So, I might just wear a black/white skirt and a pink blouse.

Oh and I didn't reply to her email (I dont really have any questions yet).

Though we need to be on campus by 3pm Sat?
