WUSTL 2019 RD

@MomTwo2 - I was just joking. :smiley: Likely won’t get FA and she didn’t get a scholarship AND prob won’t get in so many things not in her favor. She’s in at Tulane EA and Emory ED w/ good merit scholarships, so it’s all good.

I didn’t demonstrate interest for this school, it didn’t even have an essay. That is honestly the whole reason I even applied, cuz I could. This school doesn’t have that good of a math program so I honestly can care less though. However, I still know how you guys feel, I was rejected from Cornell ED. The waiting period was the worst as I would check my email every two minutes, LITERALLY. Just keep your head high, remember, this is only undergrad. In another 4 years, most of us will be going through the SAME exact process.

How bad is it if I didn’t fill out scholarship applications? I interviewed, visited twice, and I’m a double legacy so would this kind of offset the no scholarship applications?

@wizmaster‌ Double legacy should help a bit, and the interview / visits clearly show demonstrated interest. I don’t think that not-filling out scholarship applications will hurt too much, but it MAY hurt a tiny bit. Nothing that a stellar app, good interview, and double legacy can’t outweigh though.

@wizmaster yes… you don’t know how silly that just sounded, what if your rich, maybe that may work in your favour, cuz if your parents graduated from the school, they best be getting the cheese.

Re demonstrated interest:

One of my kids, who is a WashU grad, did not demonstrate any interest. He didn’t apply for scholarships, or interview or visit. He visited for the first time after acceptance, at which point he fell in love with the school and decided to attend. So it certainly is possible to get in without demonstrating interest.

My daughter is a current applicant, and she did visit, to see her brother :smile: However, she did not interview.

I didn’t interview :neutral_face: lol. However, I did send them an application update a few weeks ago (coke scholar) and they thanked me for my continued interest, so hopefully that shows enough interest :confused:

@Jalaquan‌ You posted previously that you were accepted to Harvard full ride, but you are pursuing Wash U?

@MomTwo2‌ , I believe you saw “Howard,” and that was for full tuition lol.

@Jalaquan‌ ah. maybe. good luck!

Thanks!

will the portal update at midnight or do they come at random times during the day?

@bug2996 I doubt that they would update it at midnight (maybe I am wrong), but I think they release decisions sometime in the late afternoon. I am in EST though so it may just seem later to me.

thankyou! I live in China so I’m trying to figure out if I have to wake up early/ stay up

@bug2996 When in doubt, sleep. If it comes in while you’re asleep, the decision will still be there when you wake up. If you’re well rested you’ll be better able to party if the news is good and better able to cope if the news is not good!

@bug2996‌ me too!!

any news yet?

nope. I wouldn’t count on it until around 4 PM EST

FYI , my daughters ED decision came out around 6 pm. EST. That’s generally when they release it. And it came out 2 days after everyone thought they would. So I was 3 days of torture. So take a deep breath everyone.

When did they officially confirm the notification date last year? Surely not on the same day, correct?
