@ccuser Those are the only ones they offer, sorry.

@watson221 Yes. It shows you didn’t just apply because it was easy.

CCUSER95: Would you really chose WashU over Stanford(Congrats!) if WashU gave you more aid?

So the final hours are upon us (possibly). I really just want to find out right now.

Hey guys! I just made an account to post on this thread!

Just wanted to say good luck to everyone. I’m having a terrible day so far, so maybe that’s good luck? Someone in study hall spilled tea all over me and my calc notebook. Good sign? Now I get to walk around school smelling like green tea :/

Ugh, today is the second day of our national qualifying district debate tournament and it is also the day of (hopefully) washu acceptances. what a loaded day…

@happyasever: Haha, possibly. I didn’t get any of the merit scholarships (I only applied for 2), however, so I doubt I’ll get significant merit aid from WashU, which is what I was hoping for.

Also, will we be notified by email when decisions are released?

@ccuser95: You should totally come to WashU if they give you aid!

For ED, I got my notification email an hour after the results were uploaded on the pathway.

What’s the expected release time today again?

5 or 6 pm CST I think. I don’t remember which

Do the financial aid awards come out with the admissions decisions if you get in?

Last year they said they would release by 6 pm CDT, so 7 on the east coast

Guys really I don’t think they’re coming out today, based on what happened ED. Last year, ED was released the 8th (Friday). This year everyone expected it the 7th (Friday). Didn’t come. Last year, RD was released the 9th (Friday). This year everyone is expecting the 8th (Friday). Probably not happening.

I would be soooo happy if it did though…

Also, keep an eye on the pathway. I’m reading back through the ED thread and it apparently glitches the day of.

I’ve seen a lot of posts this week saying how decisions aren’t going to come out today based on what happened ED. Let’s worry about that once 6 pm CST comes and goes. There are several reasons why ED decisions could have come out late. Historically, Wash U always releases decisions on a Friday, so it is either today or next Friday. But we will cross that hurdle when we come to it.

As for demonstrated interest, it’s really as easy as joining a mailing list or emailing admissions a question. I visited Wash U in January and had an interview and tour, and tried to keep in touch with my interviewer. I also joined the mailing list and even asked questions to the student bloggers (I think they work for admissions office). If I get in, it will be because of my demonstrated interest more so than my stats.

I am more worried about not getting a decision today than being rejects.

^Really? For me, I’d rather wait. If I see that I got rejected, then I can kiss the rest of my reach schools good-bye.

^same… but then again, washu is pretty random. i’m 90% sure that i’ll be waitlisted/rejected because i didn’t demonstrate interest.

^they are pretty random. and who knows? One guy got accepted without seeing the rep. when he visited our school, which is pretty much the ONLY contact we get from wustl.

do they record those? i’ve been to one, but it was one of those tours that included 10 or so schools. did he apply for scholarships?

Didn’t ED results come out late after they extended deadlines for Hurricane Sandy victims? If that’s the case, a significant chunk of applications do come from the Northeast (New Jersey, New York, Washington DC area, New England), predictably causing a bit of a delay with results. Obviously, we don’t have to worry about that too much in the RD round…

WUSTL is definitely one of the biggest sticklers for demonstrated interest… I do hope it comes out today!
