^^ why?!

10ch

My son applied RD and also applied for the Moog Fellowship. He kind of threw the scholarship application together and overnighted the recs so they got there at noon on 1/15. His WUSTL Pathways account doesn’t show that they are processing anything for the scholarship so we are wondering if he got it there too late. All his account says is “The Academic Scholarship & Fellowship Programs application deadline has passed. All scholarship application materials have been sent to the faculty committees for review.” does anyone else show anything on their account that would indicate a scholarship app has been received? Good luck everyone!

Finances.
Life is rough. xD

That’s unfortunate. I saw your “chance me” posts and I sympathize with your situation. I’m rooting for you for Harvard!

applying to more schools…

D’awwww. Why, thank you! :3

I applied RD! I actually applied for the guaranteed med program too! (although with the stats they require for that, might as well go Harvard med instead haha) Since i submitted the app really early - like September - I had my interview around mid/late October! I haven’t had a chance to visit yet but I have a couple friends that go there and WUSTL seems like a great place!

With the guaranteed med program, it’s as you say; if you have the stats to remain eligible for it, then you’d pretty much be guaranteed acceptance to the med school of your choosing. However, why would you choose some no-name school like Harvard over WashU anyways? :D

Applied last minute & on a whim. I expect rejection, but I got into some other good schools, so I won’t be going anyway…

^If you have no plans on attending, why did you even apply?

Applied ED, was deferred, had a decent 1st semester, and applied for Danforth and Rodrigeuz. Hoping for the best!

Anybody know if they look at whether you’ve visited campus as a major factor? Haven’t been able to get out there but it seems beautiful

It’s not a make or break thing but WashU really cares about demonstrated interest. Visits, overnights, interviews, etc. It will help make your application a lot stronger. If you can’t visit then emailing your admissions officer and explaining this or seeing them when they come to your area can help.

I don’t believe I’ve posted on this thread, but I heard we are finding out March 8th (see http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1455425-admissions-notification-dates-2013-a-3.html) and I just about passed out from nervousness. I am just a big ball of anticipation, eeeeek. Please tell me I’m not the only one freaking about an admissions decisions. :/

This says April 1st for Regular Decision applicants.

Umm actually you are both wrong. With all top colleges they always say “BY April 1st.” No college actually does things on April 1st. Wash U traditionally comes out on March 8th, and will most likely (like 97% sure) will mail out the letters before April 1st.

A simple, “that’s what I meant” or something could have worked.

Oh okay, I never knew about the “always before April 1st” thing, my apologies.

Got rejected by the med program (although I wasn’t a)expecting to get it b)expecting to meet the requirements they want :P). just waiting for undergrad now
