Is it true that Wash U has said they aren’t need blind and that applying for financial aid hurts your chances? I didn’t apply for aid but was wondering because that was the reason I didn’t apply for it.

@amd1997 it is true that they aren’t need blind, but applying for financial aid will definitely not hurt your chances… They have plenty of money theyre not worried whther you need it or not. Also, financial services is completely separate from admissions there.

The whole point of school not being need blind is that it can hurt you if you apply for financial aid. If they’re looking at 2 similar candidates I believe they will take the one that doesn’t need financial aid. Otherwise they would be need blind. At least that’s how I see it.

Well, it looks like the results will be aligned with a few other top tier schools (December 12/13).

I’m betting it comes out Monday, December 8th around 5 pm Central time. :)

12/13 is a Saturday. So that can’t be it. @newjersey17 I hope you’re right.

It does seem they are not need blind. It would not seem to significantly hurt your chances though.

While this was 5 years ago, it may be relevant:

Most of the class is filled without taking into account need for aid, but by then financial aid money will have run out and so they must consider those who can pay and those who cannot.

Marginal change in admissions chances, if anything.

Last year ED decisions came out on Monday, December 9th which was six days before December 15th. They are due by December 15th this year too so they’ll probably come out in a couple days either Monday or Tuesday. I’m betting Monday. Good luck everyone. :)

too soon!! An acceptance this early would be reassuring though. Hopefully financial aid is sufficient, because net price calculator wasn’t that promising. We will have to call the office and see what we can do.

I’m so nervous for next week :(

2010-10th
2011- 9th
2012-11th
2013-9th

When do you think they will announce it this year?

@watermelonn i think the 9th

But they announced it on mondays and fridays. Do you think it will be as late as 12th, Friday?

Hopefully it is tomorrow. Really ready for a decision to come out.

Any internationals? And what are the stats?

I think either tomorrow or tuesday

International ed app right here ^ ^

@watermelonn last year was a monday 2012 a tuesday and 2011 a friday… It has nothing to do with the day of the week that they were posted though… I think that they want everyone to get the decisions in the mail on the 15th (or as close to the 15th as possible if its on a sunday) so they have to have it mailed out about 5 business days before december 15th, which is december 9th this year. If you don’t believe me, look at when they posted decisons relative to when december 15th hit.

What time tomorrow?

Is it posted on our WUSTL pathway account or emailed or sent in the mail?
