^Really? Though that reason would hardly surprise me, I always thought it was because it was SCEA and the current trend was to apply to more than one college early.

On the west coast, at least where I am, Yale is misconceptually seen as an overly pretentious and pretty school (quite ironic, given the people who make such remarks) but I guess safety, although I didn’t feel it was a big reason in itself probably took the cake… away.

Is it just me or is the waiting game kicking butt at times? lol.

Any advice on a fishy interview spot for my Yale interview? I’m supposed to meet the guy at a Burger King at 11:30 in the morning and I got the notice just now for an interview for this Saturday! ><

Is this a normal circumstance? And by that, I mean is it an okay spot to meet? I have no problem with it but my parents think that since it’s Yale university, I should be meeting the guy at some sort of country club (place for my Brown interview)…

My friend’s interview for either Yale or Harvard, I forget, was at Skyline Chili, a local restaurant that is maybe a quarter of a step above the inside of a fast food restaurant. If it was Harvard, she got in, so yay for fast food places. If it was Yale, she wore a Harvard colored coat (her only coat was red, poor gal) and got rejected, so boo fast food.

Maybe all Yale interviewers are very casual? My interviewer uses very few capital letters in his emails. I like it :).

Hahaha, my Yale interview was a Panera Bread Company. So it was a nice atmosphere. I wouldn’t be worried about it being at Burger King, besides the fact that fast food is disgusting I also imagine that people around you will like like “***, this person is going to Yale?!?!”

But if I were an interviewer, I would choose a place like that intentionally, just to see everyone else’s reaction. Maybe all Yale alum have twisted senses of humor.

Haha mine was at a Starbucks… so I agree, somewhat of a nicer locale, and the BK thing IS weird, but whatever. If your interviewer wants to do it, so be it XP It probably means he’s a young college dude or something, so at least that’ll be nice (instead of having some boring old man to talk to)

I actually heard of a Duke( I know, not Yale) alumnus who opted to hold the interview at a McDonalds. It doesn’t help that he was described as an out of shape man who was holding a big mac when the student arrived.

Hahahah that’s so cute
At least he really enjoys his job

My interviewer met me at Breugger’s Bagels. I had a delicious softwich before he came, but he didn’t notice.

this guy is definitely NOT some young dude hahaha

but i talked to my teacher (she’s been on numerous college admissions boards) and she said the older the interviewer the better.

something about not having to deal with generational gaps? i don’t know, hopefully it works in my favor!

i should go to sleep soon…interview tmrw ahhhH!!

any of you guys make presidential scholar?

too bad i’m not eligible :(… perm res

Male, applying for Biochemistry

yeah…how many people were nominated? i looked at the list and it’s huge!!!

^it’s supposed to be 40 from each state, but a lot of states have more than that because of ties
what was your SAT score?

apparently they only take into account M and V scores, for which i had 1550

^thats too low for most states
I’m guessing tristan is from an underrepresented state, because I’m from PA and had a 1590 M+V and didnt make it. in a lot of the states (read: northeast and california) you had to have a perfect score in both sections to qualify

I would have been if Hillary had been elected -.-

Stupefy, I know two people who had a 1590 CR + M as well and they didn’t qualify :(. Since when were there intelligent people in PA?
