Yale 2014 Hopefuls

anyone know if CSS has a fee waiver if you are low-income enough? i really hope so.

life has a fee waiver if you’re low income

^hahahahahah

^hm, really? you learn something new every day!

I don’t know if that’s entirely true, though. My parents initially requested a fee waiver for my life back when I was still in the womb; we were told that it may take up to fifteen years to go through and be validated. But I’m seventeen, almost eighteen now, and I still haven’t received it. :-/ Has anyone else been through this? I’m starting to get worried. I’ve heard that you can resend your request, but only if it has been twenty years past the first request date, so…I guess I can wait for that, but it kind of sucks to be the victim of such a terrible bureaucratic delay.

^i love your sense of humor:p

gave up getting a car to apply to good colleges…it is very expensive.

imagine what i could’ve bought with 1500$$$$$$

^books for next year. or part of my room and board!

did you all spend your parents’ money or yours?

or a shiny new laptop!!! :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: oh well that’s the price for the opportunity of getting into college

it was my mother’s money(single mom, and she’s quite poor!! oh noes) oh god my dear mother

Haha, thanks, jjav!

I think I spent ~$600 on application fees. Not sure about SAT score reports, and I haven’t done CSS yet. :-/

Yeah, CSS costs so much money. And it takes forever to fill out. I feel like I should have been paid to fill it out. Sending SAT/ACT scores is also fairly costly. And I had to sent my SAT scores twice because I took the subject tests after I already sent them all of the first time. So annoying.

So everyone’s totals could be considerably higher.

Hi guys, just wondering, how stupid was it that i forgot to mention I was a scholar at my school on the application??? i am so kicking myself right now.

im from england, only applied to Yale, but already have a place at Durham!

Hi! Just wanted to drop by and say that I am another Yale 2014 hopeful. Applying to Cognitive Sciences like someone else here, I forgot who. My college list looks like most of you guys’ and Yale is my #1 :D

Hi everyone! I’m also a Yale 2014 hopeful! (~Silly thing to say since I’m posting here. =])

I saw everyone’s posts about how much money they spent on college apps and thought “That’s so much!” until I counted up how much I spent. About ~$400 and still going. (Haven’t submitted the PROFILE) -sigh- -_-

Hmm this thread does not seem to contain as many OMG***BBQ-spaz posts as the SCEA hopefuls thread. So I’ll bring up a random topic: Are there any confirmed FAMOUS 2014ers that are confirmed to be attending Yale this coming fall? Not that that’s important, but Brown does have Emma Watson…

dag nabbit I always forget they bleep out abbrevs for expletives

@plumdum229 - I have no idea? It would be cool though. I don’t think the famous people would know yet though, unless they applied SCEA.

^it was reported that Caroline wozniacki applied to yale this year.
Eh I’m probably the only one here who even knows her. professional tennis player- currently world no 4. she’s terribly boring to watch (counterpuncher) but i bet yale would take her in a heartbeat (apparently after she won new haven last year, the yale football team “took her out”)

I spent $1500-2000 dollars on apps :frowning:
I cant even remember how many dollars, thats how bad it is.
