Yale 2015 Hopefuls

@FallenAngel

Judging by the charts linked in previous posts, Missouri contributes a relatively low number of Yale Admitees which could mean a slight edge in the admissions decision. However, as others have said, being from an under-represented state is not going to guarantee admission, nor will it disqualify you.

However, I sure hope it does give some amazing advantage as I am also a MO Yale hopeful :D

Nice, good luck. Let’s hope we both get in, we need to rep MO! =D

MO isn’t that underrepresented. The link that was posted earlier on this thread concerning admittances by region showed 24 Yale 2014ers from Missouri, which is pretty good considering the overall quality of schools in MO.

I wanna do SCEA…anyone from AZ?

It feels like not a lot of people from Louisiana get into Yale. No one’s gotten in from my school in three years and I only know of one person who got in last year in my city (not to say that there weren’t more).

hmmm yea. my counselor even told me that yale “doesn’t seem to like our high school” . haha. makes me wanna apply early even more

Applying RD from Indiana. Anyone else from Indiana?

What’s SCEA? And I’m applying this fall, from CA. :)

^ Single choice early action. It means you can’t apply to any other colleges early action.

I will most likely be doing SCEA! Will post back here after I get my ACT scores tonight. :p

Ooh good luckies!
if u dont mind me asking, howd you decide which school to apply SCEA?

I’m planning SCEA as well. Arwen, idk… I just can’t imagine myself anywhere else (which is REALLY REALLY BAD). It’s the perfect university (to me), great academics, has the perfect atmosphere, and a beautiful campus.

Applying SCEA. Deadline’s about 4 months from now =S!!!

Yale didn’t really wow me with the visit…but I really dig the whole residential house thing. At first, I thought I was going to go with Brown ED because I adored it so much but I don’t think I could apply there ED now without at least trying for Yale.

@mulberrypie Same here. I need to chill out with my obsession, because it may end up hurting me in the end.

I’m applying SCEA. Hopefully my September ACT scores are great, because I haven’t taken the SAT I yet, and my SAT II scores are mediocre for the Ivy League level. I didn’t give myself much flexibility in my testing schedule…

I know at my school teachers ALWAYS show their students the recommendations before they are released.

^Mine too. They did it voluntarily.

mulberrypie at least you know what you like. im like, all the colleges are the same. haha
paquenuque- way to make a habitual procrastinator nervous! wow 4 months is soon :(

i kinda wish my teachers would show recs. but then again, i feel like they might not be completely honest if they know they’re gonna show the student…

Want to apply just to see if I would get in, but do not think my stats are up to par. Carleton is my number one school anyway.

Hey, I’m thinking SCEA as well but I don’t know if I actually should, please chance me?
