My goal is to have everything finished and submitted by Saturday. I’ll get to not miss Halloween festivities too. Thank goodness I don’t have any major schoolwork due this week.

Today’s the big day for me! I’ve been waiting on my rank for like two weeks, but I’m now ready to submit.

Do we get a confirmation email? I submitted my app day before but haven’t got one yet.

^ You get an email with your Eli account info. It takes a few weeks, though. I think I got mine two weeks after I submitted my app (submitted Oct 7, got the email on the 21st). I believe their website says you should get an email regarding your Eli account within three weeks.

ahhhh! i would do annnnnyyyyyyything to get into Yale

Hmm, I didn’t realize that they wanted your common app essay to also be below 500 words. Looks like I will be having fun with my 650 word essay now sigh…
I don’t think any other schools say that though, as long as it doesn’t get too lengthy?

650 words should be fine, I think. My common app essay was 750ish words, and I was accepted (after being deferred SCEA). My supplement essay was only 450ish though.

If you get your Eli account e-mail within 3 weeks, how do you know they’ve received all the components of your application? For example, my counselor sent her rec by mail, so how will I know Yale’s received it? Call?

^I second that question.

^^ I think they’ll notify you if something’s missing from your application.

I’m calling today to check if my teachers forms are there. The express service says it is, but I just wanted to be sure.

Does Yale care about the essay portion of the SAT? Like, if I got a 780 Writing score, with an 80 on the MC and an 8 on the essay (I have no idea what happened), will they consider my individual essay score, and view my application as lesser? What about if I got an 11 on the essay the last time I took the SAT?

I just got my SAT 2 scores. Do I have to rush them? Or is regular fine?

^regular is fine, some schools do not like recieving rush scores for some reason

Thanks. Just sent them!

Wagsthedog, I’m sure they look at the score, but that will definitely not be what makes or breaks your application. Like you, I got an 80 on multiple choice and an 8 on the essay (for a 770 overall). I still got in. I highly doubt anyone will care about your SAT essay score if your actual application essays are great.

Does the SCEA application require a midsemester report? Was that part of the counselor application?
Agh…

I didn’t include my act without writing on the self report section. What should I do??? I already submitted it

That depends, is it a better or worse score?

Either way, if contacting them would let you sleep at night, I’d do that.

It was the same basically. My counselor put the score on my transcript. I don’t want them to think I was hiding it
