Yale 2015 SCEA Hopefuls

Nevermind. I don’t think SCEA requires a midsemester report.

In that case, contacting them cannot hurt.

I’m sending in my Common App today!!

I just did too tonight. What a relief!

Now I only have to wait … for the interview.

I’m really curious if I’ll even end up getting an interview. When my older brother applied two years ago, he didn’t get one. He did do RD, though, so do you think that matters and that they’d try to get more people interviewed for SCEA?

must.finish.essays.by.saturday. must.motivate.myself.

Just sent it!

Dun dun dunnnnnnnn.

hey can we submit commonapp and the supp separately? or does everything get submitted at once?

^you have to submit it separately… You don’t have another choice

I’ve gone back and forth on which scores I should send for my EA Yale application. Here are my Scores:

ACT: 35 composite, 33 english, 36 math, 36 reading, 35 science, 31 english/writing (9 essay)
SAT: 1/2010 - 690 reading, 720 math, 670 Writing (8 essay)
3/2010 - 700, 770, 680 (8 essay)
10/2010 - 740, 750, 760 (7 essay, 80 mult choice)
SATII: 800 us hist, 750 Math II, 750 chemistry

I’m debating just sending ACT or all of my scores. Thoughts?

I’d go with the ACT plus SAT 2’s.

^ If you turn in SAT 2s, you have to turn in the SAT also.

^^ I’d go with both.

ahhh my teacher hasn’t turned in her rec yet, and she hasn’t responded to my email. I’m getting worried.

wonder y yale lets so many florida kids in???

Hi, I have the same question as jajajajacob.

Which set of scores should I send for EA? Or both?

SAT: 2160 (CR: 650/M: 750/W: 760)
2340 (CR: 740/M: 800/W: 800)

SAT II: 780 Physics, 790 Chemistry, 800 Math II

ACT: 32.5 (E: 36/M: 35/R: 31/S: 28) Essay:11
34.75 (E: 35/M: 36/R: 33/S: 35) Essay:10
35.5(E: 36/M: 36/R: 34/S: 36) Essay:10

^both.
10char

The problem with that is that you tested at least 6 or 7 times. I don’t think it should be a big problem, but be wary that you have to send all scores and that you don’t want to give the impression that you take tests as an extracurricular activity. But since you improved every time, it may not be as big of a deal.

^
Are you sure it’s a requirement to send all scores an applicant ever receives?
I took the SAT, for example, but I haven’t taken subject tests, so I’m submitting an ACT test. If I took the ACT multiple, will I be required to submit every testing date?

Do the school forms, including my transcript, teacher recommendations, and school reports, all have to be sent in by the November 1 deadline? At what time?

I believe the school forms must be postmarked by November 1.
