so i just talked to the admissions office, and they will be mailing the decisions this week to our mailing addresses (the school address for most of us, i guess).

I've given up on yale- their admissions rate for transfers is almost ridiculous!

i have been following this thread, but haven't been posting because i just can't afford to spend any more time on this thing! but i felt i had to post to clear up what is a terrifying reality for most of us. the decisions will be mailed to whatever address you listed as your home address, not your school address (i double checked the app instructions). so unless you commute or you listed your school address twice, the decision is going home! i made my mom talk to me on her cell today as she walked to the mailbox! it really makes it more unbearable... sorry to be the bearer of bad news, just wanted to let people know to alert the folks at home.

Right. p44 is correct. I also checked the Yale application and, sure enough, (in most situations) it looks like Yale decisions will be mailed home...seriously, though haha...you're absolutely right...it makes it so much more unbearable...my mom gets to find out before i do...oh man

i have to repeat what i said in the brown thread, which is that it is not true. the address the decisions are mailed to is the exact reason why i called today, because i'm an international student and wanted to make sure the decision would be mailed to my permanent (home address), since my mail isn't forwarded from the school i'm now attending and since i'm leaving the campus this friday. both brown and yale gave me the same answer, which is that the decisions are mailed this friday and will be sent to your mailing address (school address if you live on campus).
but maybe it is only in case of international students whose permanent (home) addresses are abroad.

just a mix up in semantics...

MID-MAY

Decisions mailed to applicants. Letters will be mailed to the address which you provide under Home Address on Form 1.

I think that the international students are an exception.

oh man...i hope we get them tomorrow.

do we think yale would mail decisions to American students before it mails decisions to international students....i, personally, can't think of any reasons for this... I just was hoping that we would hear earlier than Friday, but it sounds likee if international students' decisions are being mailed friday, chances are American students' decisions are being mailed friday too....

it sucks so much that our year had to suffer all these ivy admission alterations....smaller acceptance rate at brown...later decision date at yale, etc....but what can you do...

still no decisions today...has anyone else called admissions? ohh...that's right they aren't answering the phones today...i guess it looks like we won't be getting decisions until next week...maybe the reason why yale is taking so long to make its decisions is that it is admitting 10 times the students this year....we can only hope. good luck everyone!

bnx, what did you mean by Yale "admitting 10 times the students this year"?

it was a joke....haha

Sorry for the confusion...

It was just my way of dealing with yale's delayed decisions...

Let me know if you hear anything.

Delayed? I think it's on time. Yale promises decisions in the middle of May.

martini-over the last two months, you've been saying may 8-9th

Over the last two months, I've been saying "If history repeats itself". I believe those were my exact words.

and honestly, while the wait is horrible, a couple of days isn't a big change from year to year.

Has anyone called the admissions office today?

I got rejected from Yale today, I didn't have my hopes up but I just wanted to let all of you who are waiting know that decisions are out

sorry to hear that, asdfghjkl

do you know on which day the letters were mailed? i live in California, so i'm trying to puzzle out when i can expect my decision...

I'm not sure actually, it was mailed to my house (Massachusetts), so I don't know when it is dated, but I would guess it would take a few more days for a letter to get to CA, but I imagine acceptance packages are fedexed or sent overnight or something
