woah okay, good to know -- thanks !

Did the letter say how many were accepted or how many applied?

Thanks.

I believe they said under 30 were accepted out of over 750 applicants, which seems pretty standard from past years. I didn't put much effort into my application (I used recycled essays and sent it in late), and applied mostly on a whim, so don't get discouraged!

not knowing when the decisions were mailed out, does anyone have an idea whether i will be able to get it by friday morning (i go to swarthmore, just outside of philadelphia)?? i'm leaving campus around noon, and because i'm an international student they sent it to my school, but i don't know whether or not it will get here on time..

rejected...

(just got into Columbia, though)

yale makes me wanna cry....

i live 45 min from Yale, yet i still did not receive my decision today...weird.

congrats on columbia augie!

Congrats, augie! What was the postmark on your Yale decision...also..where are you from?

Augie I believe is in NYC.
I haven't got a decision today.
If they are sending it to my home address in Korea I will be annoyed..

so can we call and ask for our decisions since they've been mailed out already?

Augie and asdfghjkl:

How far away are your home addresses from New Haven?

Boston, so I would imagine they mailed decisions yesterday

That's weird because I live 45 min away from New Haven (closer than you), and i didn't receive my decision today...i wonder why..

calm down bnx- u'll get it tomorr-
anyone that gets in from cc is legally a god- 30/750! ha! make me laugh!

haha, okay, bumpitybump. i'll calm down....but really! you're one to talk! remember the night before your harvard interview?!?

lol!
I'll get ya!

I think it's funny when ccers ask for stats when people say they got in somewhere- especially for ivy admissions, we shud all ask what made the person stand out cos it's definitely not their stats- the person prolly had some extra edge- and people please be honest when we ask so we can learn from our mistakes-

i live outside of boston and i didn't get mine today. bumpitybump i COMPLETELY agree with you: this isn't frosh admissions, this is a whole new ball game. they want real people, not just numbers. a transfer needs to be able to add something to the community, because they have no shortage of kids with great stats.

exactly what I was talking about, about the whole stats thing- a good example is layla on the columbia thread- I mean her stats are really good, but so are many other applicants on teh columbia thread who got rejected- There was probably a reason why she got accepted over them and sure enough I asked and bingo! answer- I think we shud definitely start probing over and beyond stats- with time we'll become pros in this whole admissions game-
