No matter what the result is tomorrow, please focus on what good things you have in your future, not the things that might have been. You have a no control over the decision, but complete control over how you react to it. Rejoice in the knowledge that you are an excellent candidate, that you are qualified to attend a world-class university, and you did everything that you could to achieve your goal. This matters. You matter. The university that you attend does not matter so much. Your reaction to life’s unpredictable nature matters. Good Night! And please remember to have someone taking a video of you as you make your discoveries tomorrow. Your joys will last a lifetime.

7 decisions tomorrow! Hoping for at least one acceptance!

Been rejected by Vassar, who only admitted 660 students out of a total of 7,800 applicants. I have two more reach schools to look forward to–this and Wesleyan. It’s in God’s hands now; seriously, astronomy is nearly out of reach for me.

Love ya all and wish you the best of luck. >:D<

Any rap fans? With any luck, we’ll be bumping this tommorow.

But really, I got at least one friend, who, if they don’t get in anywhere, even if I get into Yale or Brown, it’ll ruin my day.

Eh. After being rejected at Pomona and Northwestern, and waitlisted at UChicago, WUSTL, Williams, and CMC, I don’t think I have a shot at any of the ivies… Well, Trinity is nice.

@meghamind

It feels cocky to say things like “I’m pretty confident of at least one acceptance” from schools like HYP. Honestly, though, I just have a tough time believing that they all could reject me. I have the stats, the essays, the recommendations, the uniqueness, the everything… If I have a weakness, it’s merely that I’ve gotten a few B’s among the 40+ community college credits I have.

I’m not really expecting more than 1 acceptance. But I would be pretty surprised with none.
I think it’s a psychological thing though; I’ve always been one to err on the side of overconfidence rather than humility.

Of course, we know that come tomorrow it’s very likely I’ll be posting with most others on this board about my rejection letters ;)

If they post the RD statistics on the accepted students page before 5 PM (which they apparently did last year), would ya’ll want me to share, or would that be too nerve-racking before the decision?

@MikeNY5 Share man, info assuages the nerves more than waiting.

5 Rejections tomorrow! Who’s with me! :P

7 rejections are on their way :(

I can’t even sleep. Not nervous, just excited. Thin line, but I’m really happy with my current options, more would just be icing.

@TrinidadJames22 Exactly! I’m fortunate enough to have a good school I’ve been accepted to. I’m just ready to know the decision!

just a couple more hours!!

@SwatBoy actually a lot more ! still 11 hours to wait !

This is probably a very late timed post, but my anxiety is through the roof since the decisions will be here in less than 10 hrs…I’m trying really hard not to get my hopes up, but someone from yale contacted me last monday to ask for additional information. The fact that they haven’t thrown my application away gives me (hopefully not false) hope.

So, guys, if you were to get into every school you applied to, where would you go?

@EtiquetteOfWar its totally natural to feel proud of your accomplishments! Thats a GREAT thing, and you will do great things regardless of whether its at Princeton or a public university close to home. Congratulations for even trying, not many get the courage to do that either.

@ronanicus, my son applied early to UMichigan and Yale. He got into both. He was being pressured (not by me!) to apply to HPSC (and elsewhere) by friends, parents of friends, etc. He had previously mentally prepared essays for those schools, and was considering applying, but was procrastinating. I asked him if, by some edict, he were allowed to trade his Yale acceptance for acceptance to any other school, which school would he pick? He replied “none, Yale is my best fit.” “Well then, son, you’re done, and enjoy your senior spring.”

For my son, the answer to your question was Yale.

I’m going to take this time to shamelessly repost what I said in the Harvard thread.
