Yep, you were asked. It doesn’t matter how/where they ask. That shows (or at least I think so) they’re looking at your financial aid app. It doesn’t mean anything positive or negative, but just shows they’re looking at your app for whatever reason.
Here’s my situation: I had not submitted the form for any college on IDOC previously, and it appeared on my portal with a red X (missing, long version) on 2/24. I submitted it a few days ago, and now it’s complete on the portal with the date it was processed in IDOC. However, I did not receive an email from Yale regarding the incomplete item. Could this still be meaningful?
It’s the same. You were asked. I don’t think anyone received an email from Yale requesting that form. It was either an email from college board or the missing form appeared on the portal.
Just wanted to ask that were there other uni’s in the IDOC list that were requiring it because I had some more aswell.
Yep, you only need to submit it once to IDOC. Every school that’s requesting it will be able to pull it from IDOC. Just check the school’s FA portals and make sure they all received it. Good luck to you.
That makes no sense though, and makes more work for the FA office to reach out to applicants directly if forms are already in IDOC and labeled correctly…if the form is labeled correctly and uploaded to IDOC they can just go in and take it from there. We had forms missing and when I called Yale’s FA office they said to add it to IDOC, labeled with the name of the form, and they will pull it from there. And they did, about a week later. I think this verification form stuff is not any real indication of acceptance/denial. Its just the FA office doing their job…
Look, this is all speculation and there’s nothing to prove this yet. Maybe this is something maybe people are just reading into it more than necessary.
In my opinion, it’s be better to wait 2 weeks and just see for ourselves
Absolutely! None of the portal astrology is proven. Good luck to all of you!
A lot of this can be verified if we could just quantify how many people uploaded it beforehand, how many have the short/long version, etc.etc.
Does anyone have an idea of what that may be?
We can do a poll.
I did that; mods deleted it. You could try though!
How about for people with the longer version, my message
For people with the short version, my message
For people don’t have that, my message
You should include “dates received” in this poll as you’ll find that most who have the short form received the request earlier than the ones with the longer version… well nvm… these polls only confuse us more
Question for all of you astrologers. Do you get your fortunes told? Personally I avoid it beyond the fact that it is a waste of money likely going to a grifter. My view:
If it is a favorable fortune, I won’t believe it, and I certainly wouldn’t plan for it.
If it is unfavorable, even if I don’t believe it, it cannot help but put a cloud over my day.
There is no upside and you are out time and money.
If you want to have fun with admissions astrology have at it if you don’t have a better use of your time. I worry more for the people who think because of some weird confluence of what is going on with their portals that they are in and expect good news on March 30. 95%+ of them will be disappointed.
Curious, would you say that final decisions have been made for individual applicants by now?
At this point, I feel the form probably means nothing.
There are totally 12 people have the long version (including my kids). Only 7 have short version, and 2 don’t have it.
10, 7, 2. It all depends when Yale asked for it. So, yes, the version of the form doesn’t indicate anything
Yeah, that is what I thought too. For the required time for my kids, one was on 2/22, the other one was on 3/2, probably the latest I have seen here.
Yep, I think it depends on the date they received the request.
Only ones we know for certain are the ones with likely letters. There are probably decisions made about most others (definite rejects), but I suspect at this point there may be more yes’s than they have room for so there may be a number of bubble yes’s they need to cull.
The AO has done this forever in conjunction with FA, so I am confident they have it down so that there is not an early “leak”. I am pretty sure someone in the AO has a CC, Reddit and other site accounts that speculate about colleges. It may be possible for some schools at some time that there is an inadvertent early or bad release because of human or mechanical error. But that would come up immediately before the official release, not weeks or months earlier.
