I don’t. Domestic or Int’l, and what is that form anyway?
im domestic and was deferred rea, i also have the other verification form. i have no idea lol
My D was in a similar situation and was accepted to JHU.
When I googled the form, the first thing that popped up was UMich, where it says that “The Federal Department of Education FAFSA Processor has selected you, the student, to submit this documentation.” So I don’t think it means a whole lot.
So, when all has been said and done, is having the Verification Statement of Household Information (long version) (dated: 2/22) a positive sign? Or is it a random financial aid doc?
We honestly just don’t know at the moment
Yes
wdym yes
Was your FAFSA selected for verification? Ours was and we were told this form only needed to be filled out if the applicant matriculated. They would have to go in person to the FA office and sign it in front of someone. Hope this helps!
I know about A2C (an used it often to confer and check info about schools and common apps during college apps season)
But, what is I2U ?
InternationalToUSA, basically an A2C counterpart more focused on intls.
So I’d our Fafsa wasn’t selected for verification, we wouldn’t have this form, right?
oh i see, interesting
I do not believe so
I’m international and don’t qualify for FAFSA. Why would they specifically request that form from me?
Our FAFSA was also selected for verification, we have the 2/22 household verification thingy in the portal (long form) but not the Verification of Identity form. Sigh. I’d personally view the verification form as a good sign. We also rcv’d a response from Yale FA recently, with no SID. DD did interview.
I hope this helps others and good luck to all.
I don’t think the FAFSA verification and the household verification form are the same thing. Our FAFSA was not selected for verification but we did receive the household verification form request from Yale.
I’ve been following the household verification form issue for a while. At least in our case, it’s highly possible that the form showed up in the Yale portal as a result of being selected for FAFSA verification. For other students, it may be there as an indicator of ongoing consideration.
Because our FAFSA was selected for verification, I’d want to see the Verification of Identity form that other posters above reference. It’s not in DD’s portal, unfortunately. She also received a response from FA with no SID in the space provided.
Yale is such a fantastic institution, and it’s extremely difficult to get in, so DD has kept a realistic mindset all the time. She will move on and thrive where she lands. However, in putting the pieces of the puzzle together, I wanted to share what we’re seeing on our end if it’s useful to others.
So if we don’t have this new form, could we assume that we didn’t get in?
Was your FAFSA selected for verification?
