Hello. Thanks for taking the time to look my profile over and chance it.
(BTW i'm applying to safety schools and match schools because I know that the odds are against me, but I didn't put them on here because they're not really a concern and a waste of your valuable time.)

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING TIME TO CHANCE ME! I'LL CHANCE BACK IF YOU WANT!

(if you have any questions, please do not refrain from asking in your post)

Yale does nt admit by major although you seem to track quite well with your intended major. Your grades and ECs are great so you might have a better chance than 7% that is average.

(forgot to add nat. merit scholar)

S applied EA to Yale this past Fall, with not as many ECs in leadership position, but still heavily involved in numerous ECs. His stats were quite a bit higher. Not as many APs, but he took all that his school offered. Valedictorian, not a legacy, not URM, east Indian Asian from NY state. Deferred, then denied. He’s absolutely fine with their decision and will be attending a fabulous school this Fall! Demographically and academically, he wasn’t unique enough, although very highly qualified to be there, as are most applicants.

Being a legacy, you should have a better chance. If you’re not from the over-represented NE, that would also improve your chances. I’m sure you’ll have to choose between some wonderful schools. Good luck to you!

I was a page too, but on the Senate side, and for the summer. I would really try to emphasize that facet of you in your essays, especially what it was like to leave your friends and begin a whole new life for six months. GPA, National Merit, and SAT scores look good. I would also emphasize your recycling club, and write about why sustainability and the environment are important to you. You have a good shot.

b u m p b u m p b u m p

You have pretty great ECs. I think you have a “good” shot at this school, whatever that means.

I was going to say that you didn’t have a shot, but then you mentioned that you got the Physical Education Award, which totally makes your application.

I like your chances. The congressional page program is very impressive. I’ve NEVER heard of this before! You were away for 5 months? That sounds like fun.

Anyways. The only suggestion I can give is to try and raise your Latin or your Math 2 score. Technically for Yale you don’t need them if you took the ACT but because you took the SAT you need to send them and improve the numbers.

You sound committed to political science and I would wager you’ll be accepted. Good luck!

Thanks for chancing me btw! (I’m not lying. S**t happens to everyone, some more than others.)

Sounds promising: Caucasian male from an east coast religiously-affiliated school majoring in poli sci w/ 4.0 uw and a 2260 SAT. Only suggestions I have is to raise the Math II score, since the curve is so generous. The Page program is the best EC i see, and definitely unique, especially with the promotion. You also have work experience, which is considered. You have initiative through starting the recycling club, and obviously show passion and direction in your ECs. You don’t seem like another resume padder. I would accept you in lieu of the other 2200+ SAT, 10+ AP CCers on this site. You seem like you would write a great application essay (what was your SAT essay?). I would say your chance is 50/50 based on the unpredictability of Yale admissions. I hope you get into a top 10 uni and good luck!

b u m p b u m p b u m p

Great SAT and GPA scores.

Your EC’s definitely stand out. It is not an array of random activities where you dedicate little time to each, but rather, excelling in political EC’s/

I say you are a likely candidate!

Chance me!
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1157856-college-chance-me.html

Your scores are very good and so are your numerous and interesting ECs. With schools like Yale you have to have a certain amount of luck along with your great application. You have a great shot of getting in! I Wish you luck!

your academic record is very solid and your experience as a page is prestigious and unique. I would say you have a decent shot (certainly better than 7%), maybe between 30-40% chance of being admitted. Make sure your essays show how you are unique and position yourself for the best chance of being accepted.

I think that you have a very good chance. Your ECs and grades are amazing and your SAT score is great as well. That, plus National Merit Scholar / Legacy status, should make you a very competitive applicant.

b u m p b u m p b u m p

Sounds great! I dont quite understand how you’re national merit finalist yet though when you just finished junior year and those scores don’t come out for a while, unless you just destroyed the PSAT and you know you’ll get it!
Anyways I agree, I HATE MR. BROWN. He’s terrible! P.S. who was your favorite proctor and returner?!? And i love Ms. Keating to death.
HOPE TO SEE YOU AT YALE NEXT YEAR!

I think based on your stats you have a good chance, but I think your EC might be lacking just a little. Maybe thats because you were vague on here since its CC but when you apply I am sure you will emphasize everything. If you do, I think you will be a great match for this college and they will likely consider you. Plus the legacy will be another great push for getting in!

Good Luck! =]

oops, i just saw that i wrote that i was doing boys’ state and taking college classes over the summer: I was lying by accident, unfortunate copy and paste issue, sorry
