Hi! I am wondering if you could clarify. I know a lot of admitted transfers from the traditional round (Non-EWSP) get in without an interview. Have you heard of Eli Whitney Students getting admitted without one?
it is clearly indicated that it is not mandatory, pointing that they strongly recommend to schedule an interview… why would it be not clearly indicated for EWSP?
I’m not sure what you mean here…but from past threads and networking I have learned that traditional transfer applicants don’t need an AO interview to get into Yale…only Eli Whitney Students do. I think someone even said that an AO interview was required (confirmed) for EWSP, and if you didn’t get one, you would be subsequently rejected.
The reason I’m confused is because I’m not sure if @buttermilkboy55 is talking about his Eli Whitney peers or regular transfers (in terms of who got admitted with/without an interview).
Exactly, we are on the same page…
but @buttermilkboy55 seems to say that some EWSP students were admitted without an interview…
If you look at the application instructions for traditional and transfer they are making it clear that interview is optional but strongly recommended.
They would have wrote it the same way on the EWSP application instructions…
Gotcha, sigh. I hope we learn soon. This wait is killing me.
I just got an interview request! Actually, I got it yesterday but just saw it. I’m so nervous and excited.
Does anyone know how you can access your application once its submitted so that I can review all my responses before the interview? I don’t see a way to do this on the portal.
thank you this is super helpful! How bad is it if i don’t remember what i wrote on my application exactly? I don’t see a way to access my responses once its submitted
how much do you know about undergrad research? I’m hoping to dig into behav econ / psych at yale and then study its specifically in regards to entertainment… (why someone subscribes or not to a streaming service? what film/tv projects resonate with certain age types and socioeconomic groups? how can algorithms or methods be created that utilize this information in the growing digital entertainment landscape? etc. etc.)
I love Professor Nathan Novemsky’s lectures and perspective (would KILL to work with him) but he seems way more involved with graduate students. Any guidance you have on research for undergrads? and/or EW students? If you know of anyone in econ or film depts btw, I’d love to get connected early on.
If I didn’t receive an interview request yesterday, am I rejected?
It can still come as part of a second waive of invitations…
Do we know what the chances are for getting in once you have an interview? Are they highly selective at this point or anyone that interests the admissions team got an interview?
Hey, so everyone I asked so far has had an interview but apparently, the interview program was restructured this year so I don’t know what that means for the process. Sorry for the confusion!
It’s not bad at all! I saved all of my responses as a PDF so I could reference them later, but you should be fine – like I said, I would just be ready to talk about what’s exciting about your future time at school.
Oh wow! That’s so interesting. Where did you hear that from? Also, is it only for Eli Whitney?
Thank you for taking the time to respond by the way.
Specifically talking about EWSP, not transfer students.
Thank you! I am a little nervous. I didn’t get an interview request so I thought that meant automatic rejection. The wait is killing me.
I am an applicant, only can provide you some infor about how to go through the research on undergraduate which you might have already know. Go Yale web site, and there is always two web site for one major. The one is for the courses, another one is official web site for that major. I believe you can find main activities and courses which provided by your interests major through this method.
Take it easy and breath deeply. There is still time. Let’s cross fingers.
Hello! Has anyone received a rejection letter yet? I am wondering when the people who have been invited to interview applied? I wonder if there is a correlation based on when you applied and if you are in the first or second wave?
They stated that invitations for interviews go out on a rolling request start in the middle of April. They also said that the interview period starts April 26 and go until May.4. So I would assume given this information that everyone who will be offered an interview will get an invitation this week. That is just how I have interpreted the information they sent out via e-mail.
