Yale NUS Class of 2020

@fitzgrant I just got it today and I submitted by application four days prior to the deadline. So hopefully you’ll be notified soon too! It may just be a little random, based upon things out of our control. If you don’t get notified, just breathe and relax, what will be will be.
I understand the desire to not seem impatient. Double check your email spam filter, voicemail, and your application portal. It’ll be posted in the portal first! Then it might be worth it to call. Maybe phrase it like: I am still unsure of how the interview process works and how we are supposed to be notified. (Rather than “why haven’t I been notified yet?!” lol) They also respond to emails quickly, so if a phone call sounds too awkward, you can do that.
Best of luck!

@yaledreamer97 thats a good idea! thank you  Are you an international applicant?

@fitzgrant Yes feel free to call the admissions office! The people are super nice there. And I honestly have no idea how they sort through application files. I don’t think (?) it’s alphabetical nor by date received, I think it’s more by region because the different admissions counselors are in charge of different regions. Don’t take my word on that though. I think most of the local (Singapore) interviews are done though, so there will probably be a lot more international (Skype) interviews in the coming week. I know the schedule runs through the 27th, but what I don’t know is when they stop sending out interview notifications; when they officially have “no more time” to interview is my best guess.

@bsb4389 are local interviews all done

guys when will we hear back about decisions?

@ughfoodplz round 1 decisions are released on December 10

is there any local applicant that still hasn’t gotten an interview mail? What are the chances that i could still get one :frowning:

@an1620 What are “Round 1” Decisions? I was under the impression that all EA decisions were released simultaneously in the evening on December 15th.

@GhostKoi What you said is true for Yale University. For Yale-NUS, application rounds are a little bit different: they use 3 admission rounds, and Round 1 is the equivalent of the EA at Yale (both have the November 1st deadline). Also, Yale-NUS releases the decisions for R1 earlier than Yale does, on December 10th.

@fitzgrant I’ve not gotten an interview email either …

anyone from india applying for round 1?

@foldedblossoms when did you submit your application and how did you apply? im freaked out. this sunday its gonna be 4 weeks :frowning:

@fitzgrant i don’t think they’re sending out any more interview invites. the financial aid documents that come with an invite were due on november 20th.

Hey @ughfoodplz I’m from India!

@indian98 where in india are you from? also, good luck!

I had my interview today. It was good, but nothing exceptional (I liked other interviews more). Now comes the wait… Two more weeks, guys! Who else is super nervous?

@an1620 wow! what did the interviewer say about your interview?

@timestorms i dont think financial aid mails have anythign to do with it? people got their interview invites on 22nd and stuff so i think there could be a chance of invites still being sent out

@fitzgrant She didn’t actually say much, only at the ending she said something along the lines “thank you for a great conversation”

@fitzgrant that’s true to an extent - i guess if you indicated you didn’t need financial aid then there’s more leeway.

Hey guys, do you know what time it is typically announced? I think since I’m in the US it’ll actually be a day early for me ahhaha
