Yale-NUS Round 2 Interviews

Hey guys! Just got my interview email today :slight_smile: Hooray! The subject of my email was: Yale-NUS College Interview Invite.

It went really well! My interviewer was very nice - even after I was 20 minutes late because I miscalculated the time difference! She said we actually ended up talking for much longer than the other interviews
Told me a lot about what would happen “if they gave me an offer”; not sure if they say this to everyone, but she seemed very positive.

That’s great!! No they definitely don’t talk about ‘the offer’ generally. At least not in my interview. So you can get your hopes up! ;)

@nikcarverhill : How did you managed to miscalculate the time difference by 20 minutes ?
I mean, all time zones are at the same minute (just not the same hour)

@hennebou - haha, I know! I calculated it for the entirely wrong day, and I just happened to check my email at the time of my interview (a full 24 hours before I thought it was) so I was 20 minutes late

I’m not very hopeful, but let’s wait and see. Hopefully I’ll get an invite. Congrats, everyone!

I’ll just keep waiting and refreshing my email like a madman, then

@naildat8: thats awesome! good luck!

@andreval and thesmiter: it seems like they’re still sending out invites. my interviewer said that the decision will be out by mid or end march, so i’m assuming they’ll interview till the end of feb? but then again, round 1 interviews were happening till the first week of december, so chances are that they might even interview in march.

Hi, Who did the interview for you guys?
I heard there was a women and another guy. Just want to figure how many people are being interviewed.

@nice19: Thanks for the reassurance. (: I’m really hoping to get it, because this school is one of my top choices. And good luck to you too!

Hi, I was offered an interview a while ago, and I registered for 22nd February. However, no one has contacted me yet to let me know of their skype id
Should I be worried and call up the YaleNUS people?

Hi, so what would happen if you would be given an offer?

@applepie95: I had the same issue. Don’t worry about it until the 21st :)

@HouseI: My interviewer was Linette.

Yep - they don’t contact you until the day before.

For those of you who were offered interviews, if you don’t mind sharing, could I perhaps see your stats (GPA, SATs/ACTs, ECs)? And also how early/late did you submit your application? And did you submit the Yale-NUS app itself or the Yale app with a checkbox?

Hi, no SAT only I B. It was not that good. submitted a week before round 2 deadline. Direct via YN app. Interview scheduled soon. As far as i know, interviews end on the 27 at 5pm (sing), according to what i have been shown.

Thanks. Last time i heard that name it was in a tv show.

@HouseI: Thank you for the info! If I interpret what you’ve told me right, then it probably means they’re interviewing the order they received the applications, which would help explain why yours was long before mine (I turned mine in with Yale, about a day before Yale’s deadline).

Smiter, I don’t think they are looking it in the order that they received the app. It may be just luck that i received mine before yours. Also, it may be that they look into their apps before the ones shared from Yale.

So smiter did you get your interview email?
I know i am not going to make it.

Congrats to all who got interview call.
