Peter, do the new additions provide their location geographically? Just try to see if they are contacting people from certain regions. Sorry to be asking you but I am unable to find their Facebook page. If you are able to post the link, that would be hugely helpful.

Not unless you go onto their profiles which I haven’t done. I presume they’re from all over. If you just search yale class of 2017 it should come up.

Peter, could you please kindly tally the total number of new admits off the waiting list then?

Roughly between 35 and 45. Hard to tell exactly. Could be slightly more.

If you facebook search “Yale College Class of 2017” it should take you to the page. There are some kids on the group who have clearly committed to other places (given their education). Others have been recently added in the past few weeks. Some of them are current Yale students (which I can tell due to a number of mutual friends who all are upper-classmen at Yale) but some are new as well. I’d guess it’s around 30 WLs admitted.

There may still be hope! In the meantime, where is everyone else planning on attending next fall (if Yale doesn’t work out, of course)?

Thanks for that clarification, Hadiram! I’m currently committed to UChicago. You?

No worries! Stanford for me

Thank you very much for that Hadiram, Duke for me!

Looks like another group got off the wait list today…

Just got an email saying that I wasn’t going to be offered a place! Ah well!

I just got released from the waiting list. I’m a little disappointed, understandably, but nevertheless still amazed that I was even placed on the waiting list to begin with. I’m actually starting to feel rather relieved, you know, that I can finally focus wholeheartedly on the school that chose to accept me - despite all the insurmountable, worthier talent out there :D

I wish the best of luck to everyone on this thread. Thank you Hadiram, peter1412 and everyone else who kept us informed and shared your hopes/fears and backgrounds. Honestly I probably would have spent everyday in fear and paranoia if I had not found this thread. Cheers guys!

Everyone, please let us know your results. Congrats to all those who got admitted, and chin up to those who didn’t. No worries, there’s always grad school :D

I’m sorry to hear that guys
When did you receive this email?

It’s been great having you to talk to as well. Everybody says “Waitlist” is probably the worst of the three possible decisions, but being able to discuss with you all going through the same thing has certainly made it easier.

About an hour ago! Seemed like a generic email.

Are you guys all international? Since I haven’t received mine, I’m guessing it’s going to come in the mail.

Yea we are. It was laid out like a letter and was dated 31st May so I presume it’s going to come in a letter for me as well.

I’m not international. I guess I should expect my letter this week sometime.

I haven’t had an e-mail telling me that I’ve been released from the waitlist, and haven’t heard anything for weeks. Wondering if anyone has been offered a place recently, or if anyone has updates/ news on the situation? Regardless, I realise odds are still slim- but Yale waitlist is my last shot of getting to study in the U.S, so trying to stay hopeful.

There’s been quite a few that have been added to the class of 2017 fb group over the last few weeks. I’d say about 40+.

If you haven’t heard anything you must still be in with a chance.

My email came in my junk folder in case anyone hasn’t checked there…

Thanks peter1412
Where are you intending to study?
