NotSpecial, nothing new as of yet. I’d say they’d need a day or two to look through more applications after hearing back from the first batch. I’ve a funny feeling that they’re doing them in waves.

lol peter i love how you and i are always on the forum for our respective waitlist colleges. i hope we get off the waitlists for our schools…

That makes sense and you are probably correct, Peter. Thanks for checking!

hi everyone!
so i applied REA to harvard and was deferred and waitlisted. they just released me today, i feel relieved and bitter and sad and all those things simply because it took them six stressful months for them to tell me (finally) “no.”

i’m on the yale waitlist - hence the post on this thread - and i’m crossing my fingers that it’ll work out because otherwise i’ll be going on a scholarship to a somewhat mediocre private school ranked in the 50s by US news.

i’m envious of some of you who are going to duke, princeton, brown, chicago etc. because from where i am, those are definitely fantastic schools.

i hope for the best for all of you, and may the yale admissions committee look upon us favorably!

I am from India and I just learnt that someone from my city was taken off the waitlist and was offered admission yesterday.

Yale must be making offers in lots and they seem to have begun the second round of offers from the waitlist.

The timing seems to be about right. Probably this week’s offers were made today (Monday US time) and they will now wait until next week if they decide to make any additional offers. I don’t know the process and am of course speculating.

@waitlisted17
I am in the same boat as you, except my school is public and the financial aid is significantly less than I was hoping for. I’m hoping to make it off the waitlist because I honestly have no idea how I’m going to afford college any other way.

The annoying thing is that it’s so hard to get excited about the current college I’m enrolled in while there’s still a chance of Yale…

since the admissions told me that the reply date is May 20th, i presume that they are now on the second round, as someone mentioned above! it means that there are still some spots open…!

Alphabet, did you accept your place?

Keep in mind, though, that there may be a different protocol regarding international students and the waitlist. If the first round reply date was May 20th, they may begin sending out 2nd round tomorrow.

Still, how many people do you think actually turned down an offer from Yale’s waitlist?

Hadiram, is that a sarcastic question? lol I can’t tell…but I’m sure not many-unless there are many ppl like firstgenn deciding bet something like Princeton and Yale. Still not sure what firstgenn decided tho!

Yes it was sarcastic!

I would think that the people who chose to remain on the waitlist are ones that would certainly go to Yale over wherever they’ve currently deposited. Although I guess I’m not entirely sure myself…

So has anyone heard back from Yale yet? My counselor talked to one of the regional counselors and he said that he “suspects [we] will find out no later than early June”.

@AndyPandy There’s about 40 or 50 have already heard. You can tell through the additions in the last week or so to the Class of 2017 Facebook page. It seems they made a round of offers last Monday and then again this Monday (3 days ago).

But no one in this thread? Does anyone know if they have started rejecting people off the waitlist though?

there was a couple of people. Don’t think so…

does anyone know how many people stayed on this year? they say it’s around two-thirds but exact numbers are always better…

Thread’s getting a little quiet. How’s everyone doing? Any updates from anyone? @peter1412 Do you know how many additions there has been to the Class of 2017 facebook page since last Monday?

Well last Monday there was some added then there’s seems to be more that have been added on Saturday…
