YAY!! I am officially a senior. *gulp*.

I was elected senior class president for next year, but i have one huge problem: I don't know what to do!! My school is fairly new and we will be the first graduating class. I want to really make the class of '07 stand out. Does anyone have any cool, fun, memorable ideas that i can do? HELP!!! I am soo clueless. I don't want to let the people who voted for me down. Also, what was the most memorable event of your senior year? Maybe they will be memorable for mine as well. I'm just looking for somewhere to start. I know memories have to be made, not copied. Thanks.

Our class officers werent elected it, they all ran on the post. I'd recommend just doing whatever you need, there isnt much to do as a class president. Good luck to you.

senior prom is a huge deal at our school, so make yours really good.

have lots of fun activities..class bonding, picnics, movie nights, laserquest, stuff like that.

have a party at the end of the year! to celebrate grad :)

You need to have a lot of rallies and play loud music during lunch. There's nothing like school spirit with some tunes to get you into the mood.

Sounds good to me. What is one huge thing that i can do that seniors won't think is lame?

Me too.....I'm a SENIOR!!!! As of monday, since the seniors graduate on Sunday.

One more huge question for you guys: How do i plan the senior trip??
My school insists that it is the parents' responsibility to do this. Are they correct? And if so, how would i go about recruiting parents?

^Mail letters to all the seniors and their parents and request for some parent help in planning the senior trip. I'm sure they will be more than happy to help you.

Your senior trip should be to Europe. Something big.

or if you dont want europe you can always go on a cruise

it's much cheaper

The seniors at my school pay $2500+ each to go sit **** drunk on a beach in Greece for two weeks..most of them don't even bother to go see anything..Grecian. lol

are you seriously planning a trip to Europe? Wow, now I want to go to your school. Grad night at my school is at a theme park. How lame is that? I probably won't go next year. What a waste of money.

you mean Greek, right? :D

Why do that in Greece when you can do it in various islands in the Caribbean, for less $$$. Especially if you come to Puerto Rico. The legal drinking age here is 18. At some islands the cruises anchor at they sell liquor to anyone. My cousin went there for her senior trip and told me all about it.

Hahah I guess I did mean "Greek." Hence the pause. :)

..but wait..I'm pretty sure "Grecian" is a word, too, though..this is going to bother me..anyone have any input when it comes to "Greek" vs. "Grecian"? lol

I agree about the Greece trip, though..I'd rather fund my own backpacking trip to Europe or something and stay in hostels and get trashed for much less money.

My senior trip next year will be Europe, 2 weeks for $2500

If you want to plan a trip anywhere, http://eftours.com may be a cheap option. And reliable. They are the company that arranges my school's senior trip every year. At least one teacher must go.

Weird quirk of going to school in Texas: The junior class plans the prom. rolls eyes at how bad it will be next year

My junior class student council planned prom this year..it was pretty awesome, I must say..

The upcoming juniors at my school could never plan a prom. They messed up on a simple lunch jamyikes. Thanks for all of the suggestions for senior trips. Although, Greece is kind of out of the question. lol. I'll be lucky if i can get to Key West<<which is where i plan on going. Any ideas on how i can convince parents that this would be a well earned trip?

We only take band trips, but chaperoning is hard to come by, so people are always drunk. China will be even better, because there is no drinking age limit. I went into a store and bought twenty beers and an Erguotou, and the vendor did not even blink, but just sold them. Mind you, with 200 drunk people this might be very interesting.
