Year-end thanks

to all of the kind and helpful posters on the parents' forum from whom I have learned a lot. Many people have made this a terrific exchange board, but I especially would like to thank Carolyn, Interesteddad, and TheDad for service above and beyond the call of duty.

Thank you also to the parents who have sent PM messages, especially TheDad for a wonderful summary of his daughter's thoughts and experience at Smith. I loved Smith when I visited my best friend from high school there a zillion years ago, and I am disappointed that my daughter has flat refused to apply to any women's college.

Interesteddad's post on considering the history of LACs gave me insights that as a midwesterner, I never ever would have had, even though unlike most midwesterners, I did attend an all-girls' K-12 school outside of Chicago and should have thought of that myself.

Carolyn is, well, Carolyn, and I hardly need to explain further.

Seven apps down and two to go. I am a wreck.

-Xmere

How kind of you Xmere. It has been my pleasure being "carolyn" LOL - thank you for your thanks, it makes the time and effort I put in here feel worthwhile to know that it matters to someone.

Xmere, I'm honored to be cited. Usually when I'm cited, it's not an honor. And thank you so much for not considering my "Smith" PM's to be the on-line equivalent of talk radio.

Anyway, it sounds as if things are working out for your daughter. The process usually manages to work...let us know how the final chapters to the saga come out.

And a Happy New Year to you.
