Yes Finally!

I finally got a 20 on my ACT 2 composite scores higher I received scores higher in all sections except reading which stayed a 17 but I think it may just be good enough for USMAPS! Wish me luck i've sent all my admissions officers my scores and I left a voice message!

I'm SO HAPPY!

Congratulations! Best of luck to you!

Good for you! Make sure you let us know the outcome ...

Congrads and best of luck!

Does anyone know about the AP Credit Policy at USMA? I've checked the website and they briefly overview the placement exams that we will take during our first summer. If I have taken AP Exams, will I be able to use them to "place" higher in certain courses? If so, what scores get you what classes?

Thanks.

rambosolos: you are always better off starting a new thread with a new topic. You will get more responses that way.

USMA Office of the Dean: Validation and Advanced Placement

The AP test scores will be used by academic departments as one piece of information to determine advanced placement or validation for new cadets. USMA also provides its own testing for new cadets to determine if they will be scheduled for the particular course, the advanced course or if they can validate the course. Five different departments provide USMA placement testing/validation opportunities to new cadets during the month of July. For example, an AP score of 5 in European, US, or World History is necessary to proceed with the validation of History. An AP Calculus, AB or BC, score of 4 or 5 is important in validating Calculus. An AP Chemistry score of 4 or 5 can be important in validating chemistry. English requires an AP score of 5 and a high SAT-V score for consideration to validate English composition.

If you validate History, you do not take a History course but go on to take "Dirt", a Yuk geography class I believe. For most of the others you will just be placed in a more advanced class eg advanced Calc. Advanced Chem. etc.
