yet another UCLA rescission skeptic

so i'm a student majoring in a chemical engineering at UCI and i got accepted into UCLA for the same major. at the end of spring quarter last year, my GPA was a 3.678.

after fall of this year, my gpa was a 3.646. i'm assuming this is the condition i was accepted under since this was what was on the application update in january.

this spring, i couldn't take one physics class because of a schedule conflict, but a UCLA engineering counselor said it was okay because my ap credit made up for it. i recently submitted "report changes form" (it was actually over 7 days ago) with this information and what the counselor said, so my schedule change should be okay. however, i did get 2 B-'s last quarter (along with 3 As), and i had to submit my grades from last quarter on the report changes form, so my gpa is now 3.609. is this a significant change that might jeopardize my admission? also, i'm in a very difficult thermodynamics class this quarter, and i'm not sure how my grade will turn out even though i'm trying my hardest.

here's my general question: what qualifies (or doesn't qualify) as "good standing," as mentioned in the provisional admission contract? should i worry?

from my understanding to qualify for good standing is to be able to enroll at your previous school without any problems…you can’t be on academic probation.

i see. can anybody confirm this?

and is it bad that i already sent my SIR in? i took the counselor’s word for it that everything would be okay.

jane is right. To be in good standing just means you are not on academic probation or suspension. And getting B’s will not affect your admission. If it did, UCLA would probably have a rescind rate of 50% or something.

okay, that’s good to know…

however, it’s been over 7 days and i still haven’t gotten a response. are they just slow, or should i make something of this?

they are prob getting a lot of emails with similar questions :] wait 10-14 days then email them back? Not sure if it is best to keep nagging them, IF they are getting to it soon! and your gpa did not even change a single whole .1 … I do not see the reason to stress about it :]

stop being so paranoid! haha, and good luck
