<p>This is actually kind of early since YoungArts information for 2013 isn't released until mid-March, but I've already decided that I'm going to apply for an award in Writing.</p>
<p>That being said, I also submitted a piece of flash fiction to the Scholastic Writing Awards this year and received a Gold Key at the regional awards (nationals are being judged as I type). I was wondering if YoungArts allows writing submissions which have already won awards but are unpublished. I checked the short story requirements of 2012 and didn't see anything prohibiting this, but I'd like confirmation from someone who knows what they're looking for.</p>
