"Your application is being very carefully considered."

My status was also changed this past friday to “your application is being very carefully considered.” I’m hoping to get a decision fairly soon. Does the end of this week seem likely?

We spoke with an admissions counselor this morning and were informed that D1 had been accepted into the College of Biological Sciences, and that an acceptance letter would be going out in the mail in the next day or two. Up until then her application status had shown the “All your matierials have been received” message. Shortly after we got off the phone her app status updated to “being very carefully considered”. I suppose it’s possible that such a change might not lead to an acceptance letter, but I’d be surprised if that were the case. If your stats were reasonably strong I’d expect a letter in the mail within a week or so, depending on where you live relative to the Twin Cities. Congratulations in advance!!

just received online acceptance today, 8 days after my status changed to “being very carefully considered”. acceptance letter through snail mail should come in a few days.

Accepted!!! :)

My status turned into “Your application is being very carefully considered” yesterday. I am an international and applying to CompSci. Can accepted ones tell me their SATs? I am wondering what are my chances.

I had the same status days before being accepted. IT IS A VERY GOOD SIGN!! I received my decision on Nov. 1

It is a good sign but everyone gets that status update. I want to have an idea of my chances. So, is it possible for accepted students to tell me their SAT scores?

29 ACT, don’t know what that translates in to.

I got accepted with a 30 on my ACT.

Accepted to the Twin Cities campus; I received the email yesterday. I am an international IB student with 1850 SAT.

My status changed to that last Thursday, and still is displaying that. However, I received a voicemail yesterday informing me of my admission to CBS. 2100 SAT 33 ACT. I am out of state, in Oregon.

Does anyone here know where I put my EC stuff for the international application? I just finished submitting it, and they didn’t even ask anything about ECs. Except one portion about jobs but I don’t have a job.

Also, does anyone know what to put under “state” when I pay for the application fee online? I’m international so I don’t have a state…

@kaitlin01
I am an international and I stated my ECs in my resume, and had my counselor sent it via eDocs. I don’t remember what I put under “state” in the payment section but I don’t think it would cause any problems if it’s incorrect.

@OMGMIT: hi there! I am an international student too. I am applying to the CBS. My AppTracker is still “received all materials.” May I ask you about your GPA and ACT/SAT score? I am just nervous if my profile is good enough :).

Hi elnhat,
I applied to College of Science and Engineering. My GPA is 70 out of 100 which is a 4 out of 5 in my country. I am an IB student with 4 higher level courses. My SAT score is currently 1970 but University of Minnesota accepted me before receiving my latest score. So they made their decision upon my old SAT score, which is composite 1850.

@OMGMIT: wow so cool! Congratulations! My ACT score is 29, and GPA is 3.9 (unweighted), but I didn’t take many challenging classes (that’s why my GPA is that high :D). I am so nervous these days because I don’t get answer from the U of M yet. I applied in late August, but right now my AppTracker status is still “received all materials.”

So, when did you receive the congratulations letter? And which way you received it first? Online or via mail? :)

Nice to meet you :).

I first received my answer via email and right now my application status says that the acceptance package has been sent to me via mail, but I haven’t received it yet.

I received the acceptance email on Nov 23rd and I am not sure about the day I completed my application, but it should be mid-October.

It’s just like a Thanksgiving gift, isn’t it :D? I wish I could see you at the U of M next year. So where are you from? I am from Vietnam :D.

Yeah, it is. :)

I don’t think there is a reason why we can’t see each other in U of Minn next year. I am sure there is a great chance for you to get accepted. By the way, I am from Turkey.

@ elnhat I have a 29 and a 3.8 and got in, so you should be just fine  (I took really easy classes too! :P)

(btw I’m OOS but in America)
