Your Bama Brags...don't be shy! :)

just bumping…

I’m posting this about a Bama student that a few of us know…

A University of Alabama student from Chelsea has landed one of the country’s 54 prestigious Truman scholarships, which gives recipients up to $30,000 for graduate study. Ryan Cole Flamerich is a junior majoring in chemical engineering and political science who wants to work in the Department of Justice.*

My Chemical Engineering son was just awarded a scholarship from the Tau Beta Pi…the National Engineering Honor Society.

:)

Congratulations to your son. Roll Tide!

my daughter has shadowing set up with two different professionals. one was taken care of by the honors college and one she set up on her own.

Good stuff, Mike! (BTW, I’m working on the same issue  )

they are all good choices!

you are working on the issue with your son? or for you! i am thinking its the latter. : )

Fabulous news!!!

The latter ;)

My older son was just offered a Graduate Council Fellowship for The Manderson Graduate School of Business MBA Program! In addition, he was awarded two additional post graduate scholarships from the NCAA & SEC for his community service work during his four years at UA.

Someone pinch me! Although my son is a very remarkable young man…
he is NOT alone. There are many other students at UA just like him. We have been blessed by the very generous scholarships at UA.

initiation tonight for the engineering honor society. : )

Congrats mom3; brains and HEART!!!

MikeW - TBP? Way to go!!

momof3boyz!

Congrats to your son! I was wondering why he would need a apartment in Ttown next year!

Everyday day I thank my lucky stars that we listened to your posts here on CC 3 years ago!

D could not be happier! Just spent the weekend there for honors week and the campus could not have been prettier!

My son and his roommate, along with mesquite_girl24, were all inducted into the four senior honor societies on Honors Day.

My son’s roommate is a Truman Scholar. He will spend his summer doing an internship in Denmark.

My son was a Truman finalist after winning the Holling Scholar last spring. He is spending his summer as an intern with NOAA in American Samoa (meanwhile, I’m sitting home and doing the laundry)

Mesquite_girl24 (and I know she will not be upset if I brag about her a bit) recently won a Goldwater, and last spring, she won a Hollings. She is an intern this summer for NOAA but in Tampa.

momof3boyz: You should be very proud of your son. He’s had an awesome four years at Alabama.

what are the four senior honor societies?

what is NOAA?
