Your Bama Brags...don't be shy! :)

Thank you so much, robotbldmom and reginaphalange. And hey, congrats and major props to you regina!! You are an inspiration.

Regina! Congrats!

And don’t worry about the little slow start…you did a LOT better than many fall frosh!

Malanai and others…congrats on super grades!

Malanai, congrats to you and your son. Those grades are beyond fantastic.

And Regina congrats to you on an awesome semester. Well done!!

lol awesome!! More young republicans = more older republicans = less obama liberals = better country :-)

Mahalo nui loa, casino and m2ck.

Casino, mon frere, something tells me you’re not moving to France any time soon, oui? :)

Not for all the fries in the world (g)

Have to add my pride for DS! He just finished his 4th semester at Bama and on the President’s list all 4! He has over a 4.0 while participating in the MS in Finance in 4 years, BA in Political Science and a minor in History. He pulled a solid A in Calc III this semester which required ALOT of sleepless nights. He also is an Ambassador for the Arts and Sciences College and a student leader for OA for the second year. I will also add that he is not on full scholarship but I think he has proven himself worthy of his collegiate scholarship! Thank you UA for opening so many doors! ROLL TIDE!!!

Okay, I’ve been prodded… so I’ll brag a little… son is out of the country, so shush…he won a Randall Outstanding Undergraduate Research Award. As part of the competition for the award, there is a scholarship awarded to the highest scored student. That was my son and though it is normally awarded to a junior, they awarded it to him as a sophomore.

He is currently doing an intensive language class in Germany and then he will spend the summer there doing research. This was a competitively won internship.

Again…shhhh :)

Congrats to all!!

Robotbldmom…that is soooo awesome!

Your kids rock, bamafana and robotbldmom!! (But you knew that already, didn’t you?)

Congratulations!

In my rush to do my brags, I did not say congrats to all of your children! I’m so impressed with what these kids can do! ROLL TIDE!

Congrats bamafana and robotbldmom!! The quality of students affiliated with this board continues to amaze me. I might have my child touch your kid’s garments to see if maybe some of it will rub off on him :-)

Roll Tide!!

Humbly thanking all of you for your support and best wishes, and adding grateful thanks to The University of Alabama for being a solid foundation for our students to grow upon.

A Hearty “Congratulations” to all our students!!

Yay!!! Just learned that S2 has gotten an extra scholarship for Chemical Engineering! Super great news since this will be a pricey year with med school apps and stuff. lol

He’s just returned from the Alabama Action in Costa Rica trip. He’s still at Atlanta airport, so I’ll later hear all about that.

(Thanks to Mr. Harry Kaup who endowed the award. )

Congratulations! That is awesome!

Congratulations to your S being awarded the scholarship, M2CK!! Hope he had a great trip.

Wonderful news, m2ck. Kudos to your son and the parents who learned him good. :)

Congrats to M2CK’s son…hope he had a good trip!

I never thought I would have the opportunity to post on this thread (other than to offer congrats to all of the special accomplishments of others)…BUT…

My son received notification last week that he will receive a hugely generous (jaw dropping) scholarship from the Walter Beall Foundation, sponsored by the Past Regional Presidents of the Fleet Reserve Association (Navy), to further the legacy of service to others while studying Aero-Eng’g. This scholarship means a great deal to him and to our family, as it was his late grandfather (my dad), a 20-year Navy veteran who served on air craft carriers, who so long ago saw the spark in my son’s eyes about aviation and fueled his passion for it.

In his scholarship correspondence, my son wrote about why he chose UA over other, more well-recognised technical schools. One primary reason was the emergence of UA as a top engineering school, the personal attention he will receive, and his own Class of 2016’s ability to leave a substantial mark at the school as it continues to grow. The other primary reason was UA’s strong commitment to community service.

As I have said in other posts, I charge everyone who receives to look for ways to give back: there are many such ways at UA. Son has chosen well.

Congratulations and well said. I couldn’t agree more…giving back is very important at the UA.

aeromom, Congrats to your son! UA is enriched by such students.
