Great news aeromom! Congrats!!

Congrats to aeromom’s son!

Congrats to your son. He sounds like a fine young man.

Wonderful! Congrats to you and your boy.

Aeromom!!

So happy to hear your good news! :)

Congrats!!

Congrats to your son, Aeromom. What a great scholarship. You chose your name well. :)

SWEET! The story and the scholarship.

That’s good stuff, aeromom! Congrats! :)

Aeromom,

I think it is greatly important that our kids remember and learn from the patriotism, spirit of sacrifice and dedication of the Greatest Generation.

I applaud you and your son for furthering the lessons your father taught you both.

I try to do the same with my DD when speaking of my late Army Colonel father. He served his country 34 years, and grew from a small-town Oklahoma boy to a man who shouldered responsibility willingly and whose work took him (and, often us) all over the world.

It is a wonderful thing that organizations such as the one who endowed your son are rewarding young people who recognize the vital importance of the military mission. You are proud, and rightly so. I am proud for you.

For those of you who have already read this…sorry. I couldn’t find this thread earlier when I posted on another thread.

Our middle daughter, a high school junior, received word today that she was selected as an OOS Ambassador for The University of Alabama College. She is such a sweetheart and we are so proud of her. They chose well, she loves the UA! Roll Tide!

Congrats to your daughter and to you!

Thanks, kjcphmom!

That is awesome, bamagirls!

Thank you, Vlines. How’s the toe this morning?

I hesitate to write about this here, as this wasn’t earned on the UA campus, per se…but it is very relevant to UA and its great engineering department.

We just got word today that son received yet another jaw-dropping scholarship towards his aero-eng’g studies, this time from the Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA). He will be 1 of 5 students nation-wide to represent the ATCA while studying aeronautical engineering, in the ‘non-employee student’ category.

I wrote earlier in this thread when son received the Walter Beall aero-eng’g scholarship this summer. Again, I am almost certain why he received this additional award was because of the connections he made between community service and his schooling. In his ATCA scholarship essay he wrote why he chose UA (it’s strong commitment to service to others) and why he is studying aero-eng’g there over more well-known schools.

This past weekend, son attended the WOW-organised tour of the Huntsville Space/Rocket Center and was, well, “wow-ed”, to say the least! What a fantastic choice my son has made in schools. And, yep, I’ll brag here: what a fantastic choice these scholarship foundations have made in my son. Roll Tide!

“WOW” is right, aeromom! That is just TOO cool! Congrats! :)

Congrats again aeromom on your son’s accomplishments…you have reason to be proud!

Really AWESOME aero mom !

Aeromom!

Congrats! So happy for your son and your family! You must be so proud!!!

Way cool, aero. Congrats!
