Son asked me to bring him his fedora for part of a Halloween costume that he needs for next week. We’re going to visit him for family weekend tomorrow. I couldn’t find the hat anywhere but decided to see if they had anything at Target when I stopped to get some nerf bullets (another necessity) They had the hats on sale for $7.48! And the teenage boy cashier commented that it was “cool”! I stopped at Salvation Army first thinking of Thumper an her good buys, but alas, no hats at all. I wanted to look at womens pants but they were sorted by color and I didn’t have two hours to hung through that!

It’s good on reg. price and sale items only… not good on clearance or outlet store items.

Such a hassle! The phone number for Save More (the crooks I ordered the foldable vases from & got NOTHING back) is 972-763-7316. I called & ended up with a recording that the number is no longer in service. I called the pre-paid card that I charged the item to and was told that they would send me paperwork so I can get a refund of the $4. It’s the principle of the thing that I find extremely irksome. I HATE being ripped off. Will file against them with the Texas Better Business Bureau and Office of Consumer Protection. YUCK!

Todays GW buys…
A really nice Tommy Hilfiger tote bag (brand spanking new) $8
LL Bean Brown loose fitting slacks $8

That tote will be my carryone for my trip in December. It’s really a nice size, has both regular handles and a shoulder strap.

Oops. I just ordered a $25 gift card to Boston Market from Save More. It was $15. I hope I don’t have the same trouble.

I was tempted by the Boston Market deal, but decided not to risk it. I have received the vases, they are ok for $4, but not really what I was expecting. And the hassle factor is HUGE. I hope it all works for you 3bm103.

Have not been able to get a hold of anyone–HUGE hassle factor. SO disappointing. Definitely eye-opening about the difference between using a pre-loaded card vs. a credit card. Had no trouble getting credit card to re-credit but the pre-loaded gift card folks will be mailing me paperwork that I have to complete & return–all for $4! It’s the principle of the thing–HATE being ripped off.

Was given a phone number from the folks at the pre-loaded gift cards & connected to a machine–NO ONE there–disconnected. Tried calling the toll-free # & was only able to leave a message on answering machine after letting it ring for a very LONG time. Got 2 strange calls on my home phone from wireless #s–NO REPLY MESSAGE. VERY POOR!

I just got this gorgeous wrap from o.co

could not be more pleased, the colors are stunning, very very happy :)

It is gorgeous & looks exactly like the wrap my kids gave me for Christmas! Love it!

My excellent buy of the day: a set of 500 thread count no iron super luxurious Twin XL bed sheets NOT made in China @ Macy’s, 60% off with my Macy’s coupon. DD called and complained that one of her sheets mysteriously disappeared, and there were no Twin XL sheets in stores nearby, so I stopped by the mall on the way home. Amazingly, Macy’s house brand of sheets is made in Portugal, not in China, so that worked well for my experiment. :)

A good deal I got today was mailing D’s flat rate box using only expiring gift cards & $.45. They let me use one for $1.50 and another for $13 and give them $.50 for which I got back a nickel! It was at Office Depot, so I should be getting points as well there, for my purchases & they sometimes give me more store credits. Also went to Office Max to use another expiring coupon–bought office supplies I always need valued at $20–got 10% off & 50% off one item. Also was able to use the coupon so the total purchase was $8+ instead of $20+!

You can mail Flat rate boxes at Office Max? Wow…learn something new everyday!!

Stopped into Rite-Aid today to get a flu shot. I was ready to pay the $27.99, but was told by the assistant that my insurance paid for it. Whoohoo—free.

We love almonds here at the PackHouse. Walgreen’s has 1 pound bags of Blue Diamond almonds on sale this week for $4.99…a great deal for really good almonds.

Figured I could use this to buy xmas gift(s)

I received my shipment of World’s Best Bras (from Jill’s Steals and Deals of a few weeks ago). They are pretty nice, fit well, and are quite supportive. All in all for the $12.95 for three that I paid a good deal! Saving one to put in oldest DD’s Christmas stocking and keeping two for me.

Startup Defender is a small program that sits in your Windows tray and constantly monitors the startup locations on your PC. If a program tries to write itself into any startup location Startup Defender will popup windows and ask if the program is allowed to place itself to start automatically with Windows. Also you can disable/enable any programs that are currently installed to startup auotmatically.

If there is an entry that you are not sure what it is, you can Google it and to see if it is needed or even harmful and choose if you want it to load at startup or not. For the annoying programs that try to repeatedly place themselves in the autorun for Windows you can click the auto block so that Startup Defender stops them with out you having to bother with them any more.
