Eddie Bauer outlets and LLBean online are having outerwear sales now - I think you’ll find a lot of sales if you look around, they re trying to get rid of winter stuff

Sent DS1 a 9-pear gift pack from Harry&David for $19.95 including shipping.

Jan 12-14 for their new Blonde Coffee. …
They didn’t have any brewed at their Starbuck’s Safeway-they gave me 1 bag of the coffee instead-I looked at the barista askance, and he gave me another bag.

The Blonde coffee is so much better than their Pike’s coffee that they introduced a few years ago… The Blonde is drinkable without adulteration. :)

How did you get free shipping? I see the sale & sale prices but not the discount or free shipping. Just got off the phone with the person at H&D & they confirmed no free shipping unless you have a special code or additional promotion. :(

$2+ for a pear??? Do they have solid gold stems?

You’re right; if you use the code FREEFSD, the shipping is free, JUST FOR THAT item. Just sent a box off to D! I know she’ll love it, as she was enjoying the box we got for Christmas! D does not have a car & does not get to the grocery store much, so I know she’ll LOVE this gift.

With postage, it was just too much, but considering that it costs $15 just to ship a priority mail flat rate box from HI, it seemed pretty good to me to have it under $20 with fresh, juicy pears I know D will love. Who knows, she may even share some with others?

I know, notrichenough, it’s a splurge, but DS1 got to share someone else’s H&D pears last semester and he mentioned how awesome they were a couple of times.

HIMom, Thanks for adding the shipping code. The link I used was different and it inserted it for me. I almost ordered the next size up, but shipping was > $10. I couldn’t bring myself to pay that.

Those pears are pretty incredible and the ones we got were twice the size of normal pears. They are like buttah.

Actually, the next size up where you get two boxes and have to pay shipping ends up being the same price, $19.95/box. I just don’t think D should have that many pears at one time anyway. The $19.95 is really not that bad a deal if we want to SEND fresh produce to kids far away & don’t have easy means of doing so otherwise. It is a splurge, but then so are the care packages we send our kids.
Isn’t that what makes life interesting? I’m hoping that D will share the pears with her great friends & peers.

Another option is 12 pears @ $24.95 at costco.com, delivered. This is a different company but we got some pears from that company this Christmas and they were good as well. With the free shipping, the H&D pears are not that much more and have great name recognition. This has 3 more pears for an additional $5.

EmeraldKitty: I also bought the Kirkland signature yoga pants as well as one of the jackets. I haven’t tried them on yet; there was a nice write up about them in the Costco Connection and since I had recently had a mini heart attack after looking at the prices in Lululemon, I figured I’d try the KS version. What do you think of them?

^^^ Woot! Starbucks taste test. Gonna have more fun with the blond and ditch Pike Place…

Those pears are one of the best things you’ll ever eat!!! Hard to describe how a piece of fruit can be so incredile, but they are.
Considering sending some to my son, but those shipping charges always get me!!!

Thanks for the heads up on the Starbuck’s coffee. I just tried the 1/4 cup sample, plus they gave me a one-pot pouch, so I can make a pot tomorrow morning. It’s good. Not as strong as most blends.

Is the FREEFSD code only good for the 9-pack? There’s a 16-pack for the same price as the 9-pack, so that seems odd…

Yes mathmomvt! I tried it for the 16-pack, but it is apparently already “on sale” and you can’t stack. The shipping was around $10 :-(.

Alwaysinterested, use my link above for the 9-pack with FREEFSD and no shipping!

it looks like the 16-pack is about the same weight as the 9-pack in any case, so maybe the pears are smaller? I’ve never ordered from them before so I’m a bit confused by their choices.

A fun afternoon for me returning mis-bought Christmas things and taking advantage of the sales. First stop Kohl’s where I made a bee-line for the ties. I picked up three of them on the 70% off rack, and got several other items including a fleece full zip jacket Total was $83.19, minus the 30% discount and final cost $58.23! Next stop Starbucks, bought a coffee and sampled that new Blonde roast. Okay - better then the usual bitter brew. Got the free sample pack and coupon.

Next was the mall. A place I’ve become unfamiliar with, but I had to return a pair of slippers at macy’s and something bought on line from Lands End, so a trip to Sears. I saved the most at Macy’s - bought NOTHING! Got another sample at the Mall’s Starbucks (felt so sneaky) and over to Sears. Spent $97 - everything was on sale, plus and additional 30% off and then I handed over my coupons for another $25 off! Final price - $72 Even the sales person was impressed.

My final stop was Eddie Bauer where I was looking for a warm jacket for my son. I found one that was the right price and had almost everything I was looking for. Son is in college in Vermont and I had not found just what I wanted before he went back. I found an almost warm enough one, but was determined to find something down filled for under $100. I got this [Essential Down Jacket | Eddie Bauer](<a href=“Page Not Found”>Page Not Found) in a dark green for $59. He has an outer jacket if he wants another layer. Of course, I had to get the matching scarf too, on sale for 70% off. What’s missing is a drawcord at the bottom.

A good day!

Sounds like a great deal on the jacket kathiep
I’ve never seen anyone acutally use the bottom drawcord, so it’s probably not a major deficit.

I scored 5 pouches of SB Blond Veranda blend. A deface and another lighter roast is coming out. Finally they have roast that i can drink straight.

Good job on those buys! I went to kohls and found basically nothing. Only ties I saw were Christmas ones. I was disappointed! Ikea tomorrow! :)
