Is it bad that I bought those Cheryl’s cookies for myself? LOL. (I ‘might’ use the gift card to buy something for the kiddos.) :)

On my Garmin LMT5595, there’s an indicator with your speed and above there’s a highway traffic sign with the speed limit. If you exceed the speed limit, one of the numbers turns red.

mathmom - we got a new GPS, a Garmin 40LM for about 90$ at staples during the holidays. Don’t know if the price is still the same, but this GPS does show the speed limit on the bottom right corner. It is a basic, no frills unit - met our criteria (must be a garmin, must speak street names and must be under 100$) :)

arisamp, that is about what we are looking for, but it is much more $$ now – will have to keep my eyes out for a better deal.

The Talbots near me is having 60% off the lowest price. I got an additional 10% by signing up for the reward card. I bought a $238 purse for $40.

Nice Chicos grey denim jacket with a little ruffle down the front…$6.99…you know where!! Oh and I got 10% off…senior day!!

mathmomvt, We’ve bought our GPS’s at Costco. I prefer to buy them there because of their return policy. Each one of ours has died within a year or so and even though I don’t think they are supposed to take returned electronic products after 90 days, ours does. They have one on sale now for $99 - [Costco - Garmin? nüvi®40 4.3" Touchscreen GPS](http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11711061&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&whse=BC&Ne=4000000&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&Dr=P_CatalogName:BC&N=5000043&Mo=14&No=3&Ntk=Text_Search&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&D=gps&Ntt=gps&Sp=S)

I was in Hickory, NC last week visiting my son and bought a 96 count package of Finish Quantum dishwasher tabs for $10.18. I hope they don’t disinegrate because I bought a pack for us and one for my son. It will probably be two years or more before my son uses 96 of them, but it was such a good deal, I couldn’t resist!

Also, we went furniture shopping at the Hickory Furniture Mart and I was amazed at the prices. I have friends who have gone up there to buy a whole house full of furniture and raved about the savings, but seeing is believing! Too bad I don’t need anything.

Instead of a GPS I love, love, love my Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone. Saturday I decided to drop by this tilestore and I just clicked the microphone and SAID “master tile…houston…tx” and it showed me 3 choices…clicked on the one I wanted and the phone guided me there. I think GPS’s will go the way of the video cassette recorder.

I am coveting the Samsung Galaxy S2! Maybe I will just get myself a Valentine’s day present, lol!

[Polo Ralph Lauren Shirt, Classic Fit Interlock Core Polo Shirt - Mens Polos - Macy’s](http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/polo-ralph-lauren-shirt-classic-fit-interlock-core-polo-shirt?ID=483179&CategoryID=20640&LinkType=PDPZ1)

Today I bought the same Ralph Lauren polo shirt in TJMaxx for $34.99 that’s currently being sold at Macy’s for $75.00.

Does anybody shop on e-bay? Are there any “deals” to be had? I collect depression glass and saw many, many pages of stuff. It was very tempting to start playing a “bidding game”. Do sellers represent their merchandise fairly?

I have found most dealers to be honest. I only buy from dealers who have good feedback. With depression glass, you may want to seach dealers’ past transactions to see if they’ve sold depression glass to others, just to make sure they know what it is. Paying by PayPal gives you another line of defense.

CL- I received a rather pricey clothing item for Christmas, so checked out getting more of the same on ebay, I found that they do represent the item accurately. There is a real drive to get a 5star rating. On one item I found damage that had not been mentioned and of which the seller said she was unaware, I believe her. She offered me a refund or a discount on my item. Overall it has felt fair, over the dozen transactions I did. I want to sell some of my kids popular brand items and I saved tons of that item to my watch list and will then see what items actually sold for, what seemed good or bad in the description, etc.

I did run into snipers, computer tabulated bids entered at the last second, two later for you to add to your bid. I also learned not to bother bidding until the last minute or two, no sense driving the price up or causing others to know how much competition is out there. Just make a note of when the auction closes and follow it for the last 10 minutes, enter your honest maximum bid at about 45 seconds and see what happens.

I snipe by hand - I get my bid ready up to the last button click and then submit it with about 2-3 seconds left in the auction.

Seller feedback is critical - spend some time going through it, and pay close attention to the negatives.

I just picked up 8 of these glasses at GW:

[Bormioli Rocco Riserva Bordeaux Wine Glass (set of 6) - SavvyHostMarket](http://www.savvyhostmarket.com/bormioli-rocco-riserva-bordeaux-wine-glass-set-of-6/)

One glass still had the original sticker on it. They look brand new. I paid $8 ($1 per glass) plus tax.

Those are fabulous wine glasses!!! My GW might have some nice clothes but YOURS has nice glassware and dishes.

Thanks Thumper. DH really likes them. This GW sometimes has great dishes/glassware on the shelves, but the best deals are to be had if you are at the right place at the right time. Editing to say that the best deals are there if you are first to get a look when they wheel out a new bin of goods onto the selling floor. It seems like a bottomless pit. They wheel out new items almost all day long (saying that because whenever I show up they usually have a new cart or carts of things)!

75 count quantum on markdown at Target for $10.18 and I had a $1 coupon. Not as good a deal as fishymom, but finally cheap enough to justify trying them.

All space heaters now half price at Target (this mild winter left them with an overstock I take it), since I don’t feel like waiting to see how much further they will drop I picked up two of the same “small room” model. Family delighted with their newly warm tootsies in the computer room and by the bay window. Best $30 spent so far this year.

With eBay, have had more luck with CC company than PayPal. When I had a problem with the merchandise, PayPal wasn’t interested in helping one of the few times there was a problem but CC company was very helpful & disputed the charge & refunded our $$. I’d use a CC that you have a good history of charging with–they will take your side in a fight. Have been very happy with Costco AmEx & their customer service in disputes especially.
