Has anyone tried that Benchprep site??? Says you pick an area of study (like ACT ) and you can use the site Indefinitely for that particular test. $25 is decent IF its a decent site.

I picked up some good buys on the Eddie Bauer site - up to 70% off. Got a couple of turtle necks, polos and a pair of Merrell boots. I don’t shop there often but liked the prices.

I don’t normally like turtlenecks, but I picked up some soft cotton ones from Landend for around 10 on sale…they wash well, keep their shape and are soft. I wish I bought more.

$129 with promo code MAJORCA. I have another bag in the Majorca line (no longer available). It looks very much like the bag that is on sale, except that the main compartment is divided into 3 roomy compartments, a center zipped compartment and two side compartments, each large enough for file folders or Ipads, and it’s probably smaller in height and width. I paid full price, and thought it was well worth it. It’s very well made.

I went to Goodwill this evening and found they were having a “Moonlight Madness” 50% off sale from 5 to closing. All right!

Found a purple (eggplant) dress AND a coral scarf to wear with it. (Trust me, they look great together.) Practically free. With leggings & boots, it’s going to be a smashing outfit! :)

Some deals at Kohl’s. I had $30 in Kohl’s cash AND a coupon for 20% off, so I was forced to go, right? I got a pretty red cardigan, a pair of black sweat pants, a pull over sweatshirt, two mock turtleneck shirts and a very nice semi- casual shirt for my son, all for $16.

I got the sweats for me. I first tried the womens section but they had real work out clothes and I just wanted some non-fancy sweatpants with pockets for lounging in. I had decided to just forget it, but then when I was looking for bargains in the young mens section, I realized they had the sweatpants I wanted, and they were on sale! I got a men’s small and they look a little big but I couldn’t talk myself into taking off my numerous layers of clothes to try them on in the store. Why don’t they make comfy sweatpants for women with pockets anymore??

There is a CONSPIRACY for women not to use pockets and just look sexy, dropping things left and right because we have no place to stash them except humungous purses that cause us to end up with painful shoulders. Good finds, Katiep!

Major sales going on right now: Loft has 50% off all new things and 60% off sale merchandise. Ann Taylor has extra discounts on their sale merchandise. I’m starting a new job soon and indulged: two pairs of pants (over 60% off at Talbots) and three professional tops, all for under $110 :)

Sweat pants–I was fortunate to inherit a pair of my son’s gray sweats that he outgrew. They even have his HS logo on, so they’re very special. And the price was right. :)

Mommusic, we call those hand me ups in my house I go through my daughter’s discards before they leave the house. She is never happy when I wear her old clothes, but many she just tires of and they are in great condition. When she was home for the holidays I wore a sweater of hers. She informed me that she got it in the 9th grade and I really needed to give it away. It happens to be a nice sweater, something that I would purchase in the stores now; and besides, I pay for it in the first place!!

My great buy for today was booking our airplane tickets to visit family in SF. Originally, the fares were $395 or 405/ticket for the days we originally THOUGHT we wanted. After further checking our schedules, we realized we needed to switch the dates and the fare went to $430/person but then remembered to redeem the $250 e-certificate so our net cost for the two of us was only $610 instead of close to or north of $800!

Booked a SUV for a week at SFO for only $215! That should easily hold all of us! Was very pleased with myself.

Because I was having an awful time with the airline website, I called their web support folks, who helped me book our tickets and correct the name on our mileage plus accounts to match our government IDs, since things are getting MUCH stickier with TSA and airlines these days. It only took a total of about 3 hours to get it all done! They even gave us seats in Economy Plus, like I requested because I am a Silver Premier member!

snowball, our kids (most of them) have a very different sense of style than we do. They can tell when something is so “last year.” All we know is, we like it, it fits, and it’s comfortable! And that’s how I save money on clothes…

Sure wish I could wear D’s old clothes. I cringe when I see what she is donating, but I, unfortunately, am way too tall (or fat) to fit into them.

My good buy was from Macy’s - a nice Nike half-zip originally $60 for under $30. I’m wearing it now.
