Wow, we’d kill around here (Ohio) for lobster prices like that - even chicken size!!!

(but yeah, I suppose it’s not good for the fishermen…)

The restaurant we have reservations at for tonight is on the restaurant.com list and the coupons today are NINETY percent off (thats the code word at checkout). So I got a $25 coupon for $1.50. AND I am getting 1000 points on opentable for making the reservation at 6 pm (at 2000 points you get a $20 check to be used at any opentable restaurant). Great deal!!

I’d heard that lobster prices were dropping dramatically. Thats incredible!

My good buy of the day: a beautiful silk chiffon Tadashi dress for $23 after an additional discount (originally $200). Nordstrom Rack rocks! Since I’m the holiday planning committee at my company, I’ll have to come up with a venue suitable for this dress
Maybe a lobster dinner will be in our budget - hmmm?

wow^ a Tadashi at $200 is a good price…but $23!!! I drop by Nordstrom Rack every so often JUST to try and find the occasional Tadashi for my D. She is a classical vocalist and they make the PERFECT recital dresses.

^^$200 was the sale price at Nordstrom, and, apprently, there were no takers. When I peeled off the sticker, the original “original” price was $300  I thought there was something wrong with the dress, but after examining it really closely I could not find any flaws (other than this is a piece from fall 2008 collection, determined by googling the style number).

Bumping up…I know some of you are early-birders and already holiday shopping so let us know your good buys/finds!!!

not a particular good find…but a great shopping experience.

I recently went online to purchase a wedding gift from a registry. The local newspaper had a 15% off coupon for the same store (Macy’s), but you could not use the coupon for on-line purchases. So, I called the store. Some of the items listed on the online registry were on sale, and it turned out the other items happened to be on sale at the store. They offered (without my asking), to honor the lowest prices no matter where shown. Plus they honored the 15% coupon. Had to pay taxes and shipping, but it still came out less expensive than the online purchase OR the store purchase, AND all with a quick phone call. Great service!

As someone who didn’t do any gift shopping over the weekend, I’m counting on scoring some Cyber Monday deals. What have you heard?

I came down with a terrible cold on Friday. Spent Friday and Sat basically in bed. I did not do any shopping much to my D’s dismay. I am just feeling a bit human but not anywhere well enough to hit any malls.
I also have no clue as to what to get anyone in my family. My D wants UGGS which are never on sale in the “normal” colors.

Nordstrom had “normal” Uggs on sale over the weekend, not a big discount, but something. And they have a helpful size chart to convert women’s sizes to childerns. Depending on what size your D wears, you can save some money (our D wears an 8, I did the conversion, worked great).
Check the [GottaDeal.com - Why Pay Retail? - Hot Deals, Coupons, Forums & More](http://www.gottadeal.com) website for the Cyber Monday list. Brad is great, he’s constantly updating the site.

Oh, I should have mentioned Vera Bradley is having a sale–the Vera tote and large duffel are $40 each, use 10offsale code to get an additional 10% off.

REI had Ugg tall boots on sale for $140. That deal’s gone, but I’d suggest keep checking sites like GottaDeal and SlickDeals to see if something else pops up. And keep an eye on your local craigslist, too. D1’s been wanting a pair, and some popped up on craigslist for $120. It was a bit too far to drive compared with the REI price, but you might be luckier.

Costco had Uggs last week. Worth a look.

If your kids like magazines, there is quite a sale today on Amazon. Things like Cosmo at $5 per year, Teen Vogue at $10 for 2 years. Wow!

Uggs are still on the list of hot gifts? It is worth checking Costco - some stores do carry the real deal in addition to the Costco’s own version of sheepskin boots. This is from igotuggs dot com:

I do not know if that’s a real Bloomberg press release, but I did see $120 Uggs at the Kirkland store last winter. And I got a very nice Marc New York leather coat there for much less than what I would have paid for it at the Rack.

I saw the REI sale. Of course she couldn’t decide on what color and now they are gone. Our Costco only had their version of sheepskin boots. Those are what she had been wearing for the last two years. Today she is off to school in a hand me down pair from a friend with duck tape covering the hole in the toe. I think she wants me to feel sorry for her.
She really wants the Ultra Tall with the braid ribbon on the back but those are $220. Plus she is a size 6 which is one of the first sizes to go.
She is presently pondering the question if Uggs are worth not getting any other presents.

Costco is out near her high school. I will keep checking in.
Uggs are still very much “in” in coastal Ca.

I was also in the market for Uggs this weekend and looked at them at Nordstrom. I noticed the little tag inside said that they were made in China. Is that new? I’m almost certain that when we first started buying them about 5 years ago that they were made in Australia. If they’re made in China, why are they any different or better than the Emu or Bearpaw brands? I’m not trying to be difficult or critical, I’m just genuinely curious.

Puzzled88- I don’t know if they are any better. I know the older pairs we had that were made in Australia lasted and held their shape better. I don’t know about the newer one’s made in China.
