Christopher Radko ornament arrived from Rue La La yesterday. Really well packaged, it’s a small music box base with Santa and Sleigh over the top on a wire. Somehow I had accumulated $30 in Rue La La credit, although this is my first purchase. I really like the decoration, and it only cost me $4 out of pocket.

AT&T is having a sale on Blackberry’s. I was able to get my son an upgrade of the Bold 9700 for $49.00 after a $100 rebate. As a new Blackberry, this phone has it all and I was surprised it was so cheap. Online it was $99 at AT&T which I was willing to spend, but wanted to see if the store had it at that price; imagine my surprise when the store tell me they have it for $49!

I was told this price was good until December 24 if anyone is interested.

^^^ I this deal good only for ppl without exisitng contracts, snowball??

My H’s buy of the day…My H has an old Razr cell phone. He is not into high tech cell phones. But it his was getting old enough to be problematic. He wanted a phone with a slide out keypad–no touch screen and no blackberry. Yes, he had to re-up for two more years, but we have had the same plan for 10+ years so that was no problem. He got a Neon online at the ATT website for 9.99. This was not a refurb and no rebate involved. Free shipping. :).

No, this was an upgrade on an existing account. My son has been eligible for a new phone for a good while, but was just waiting for the right phone and price. Of course you have to sign a 2 year agreement, but we have been with Bell South Mobility/Cingular/AT&T for 23 years, so I never mind extending our agreement.

^^^ That’s the catch. Gotta be eligible for the upgrade. We all upgraded within the past year or so (even though I hadn’t upgraded for eons before that). Apparently you can upgrade within 4 mos of the 2 yr mark, so DH will wait it out and deal with the funky line across his screen for the time being.

We have at least 3 phones eligible for an upgrade. Of course the child who could use a new phone is the child who is the easiest to buy for and who has the longest list. I have been holding off for the past 10 months on upgrading my phone since I can’t decide what I want.

Update on the shopping trip with DH. He was pretty good. He tried on everything I brought to the dressing room. Came home with 2 pairs of jeans and a pair of shoes and a new belt. All already on sale and an extra 25% off at Macy’s. D who is 15 vetoed all the purchases. She didn’t like the wash of the jeans. She insisted we go back Sat. H stayed home. He was not willing to venture to the mall again. (It had been almost 2 yrs since he has set foot in the mall during business hours. We had to the movies there a couple of times) My D found him 3 pairs of jeans and a shirt. When we got home he tried on the new items. End verdict he has 2 pairs of jeans we are keeping, the shirt and the shoes. 3 pairs of jean and the belt to be returned. We went to a party last night and he wore a pair of the new jeans and the shirt and shoes. He got many compliments and he was pretty happy with himself.
The friends and family discount at Macy’s lasts through Monday. It even worked on a pair of $150 Hudson jeans.

Not sure if this was mentioned before - Amazon has the Harry Potter movie that’s coming out this week for $9.99 regular DVD, 15.99 in Bluray. It’s on several of mine’s lists.

Not sure if this is a good buy. I got enough AmEx points that I bought a MacBook for D2 and an espresso machine for D1 for Christmas. Who says it doesn’t pay to spend money.

Thanks Singersmom07. That is a great price on the Harry Potter movie and I ordered one!

Was ignoring an email coupon I had received from Sephora for $15 off of a minimum $35 purchase until a friend pointed out that you don’t actually have to spend any more than $15 to receive the credit. So combined with a free shipping code, I’ve got a nice little $15 item on its way to me at no cost.

Went to a Chicos fundraiser for a local charity (you know…a portion of the sales go to the charity). I do NOT need any Chicos clothing. SO I decided to get each of my kids one of their very pretty ornaments…metal and beads. Got DD an angel and DS a star. They were $8 each but somehow I got both for $9…only $4.50 each…not bad.

singersmom - thanks for that Harry Potter heads-up! It’s on my daughter’s wish list. Also, my son told me that if you get the “fancier” version of dvd’s they usually include a digital copy, that is upload-able to their iPods. Good for long car or bus trips.

After buying cheapo purses for the last couple of years, I hit a Coach outlet store on Black Friday and got a brown bag and a black bag for close to 75% off and I am now a happy camper. Have lots of room in them and can find what I want at a moment’s notice.

Today, we went to Jos A Banks and my hubby picked up a nice sport coat for about 66% off.

I also got some great deals at the American Girl website the other day.

I hate paying full price for anything, although American Girl is my hobby and pretty much my only vice so I wind up paying full price for some of the stuff I really, really want. ;-)

Last year, I got my son shoes at Sports Authority plus an “insurance card”. This allows you to get a replacement w/in 1 year if the shoes are wrecked. Since he’s a skateboarder, you can bet his shoes got destroyed. So…

Buy of the weekend: Got him a new pair of Vans. Sports Authority also gave me $5.00 because they were on sale!
