Anyone know of a reliable source for airline promo codes (other than the airlines sites themselves)? I’ve googled and checked out many, many blog sites and flyertalk but nothing helpful.

DH and I went to Lowe’s tonight looking for a dining room light fixture. While heading for the lighting section, I stopped by the clearance table (always looking for a good deal) and found in a box pushed underneath the table, a really pretty bronze light fixture that I loved. I think it’s technically a foyer light but who cares? It was originally $120 and we got it for $30…woohooo. We are building a new house and had just spent a fortune on ceiling fans for the house so a great deal on the dining room light made my day.

Our local Nordstrom Rack has a lot of stuff further reduced 50%. I got a very cute blue BCBG dress for $35 ($170 original retail price)!

H and I are making the 4 hour drive to Las Vegas this weekend to take advantage of a
$49 a night rate for a suite at the Venetian. Fluffy robes, jetted tub, and three wide screen TVs. (leaves me enough spending room to take advantage of the spa!!) Cheap weekends in Vegas are back!

Whoa! How did you find THAT??!!! ^^^^

abasket----We sign up for all the “frequent gambler” (or whatever its called) programs at the large casinos. It does not matter that I do not really gamble. For example, my “points” (that is how much I gambled) at the Venetian are a total of 23($). On top of that, when we signed up for their “GRAZIE” program, we were given $50 in free play. AND we receive another $50 when we show up on Friday. I am considered a high roller after dropping over $20. That is how desperate they are in LV.
I was also offered FREE, three consecutive nights (including some weekends) at the MGM Grand, until 6-15. We are taking advantage of that in April. This is after I bet a wopping $25 there last year. One factor MIGHT be that we usually book a nice meal through the hotel at restaurants such as Bouchon or L’Atalier. They do keep track of such things if you book your table through the hotel reservation desk.
We like to spend our days hiking up by Red Rocks and the evening at a nice restaurant. And now, even the high end restaurants are offering great prix fixe meals at relatively bargain prices.

^ OOoooo so jealous here in snowland!

“We like to spend our days hiking up by Red Rocks and the evening at a nice restaurant.”

That’s my idea of enjoying the great outdoors in a civilized way. Have fun!

Question for all you savvy travelers: Once an airfare rises, does it ever go back down? I had been tracking a certain fare for five days and just couldn’t bring myself to pull the trigger because I had read on Airfarewatchdog that the best day to book a flight is Tuesday so I waited. Needless to say, the fare went up instead of down. Will it now only continue to rise?

I have definitely seen Air Canada go up & then down, but never Southwest, except a DING special

Just bought a Skagen men’s watch @ Costco for $15. On-line, it is listed at $100 or so for a very similar watch.

I love Bandolinoblu jeans. They are usually $40 a pair. I got a pair at Macy’s for $12…and that was without the coupon I left at home!!

I never knew that Kmart sold anything Cashmere, but they do. I bought a Cashmere scarf for $9, quite a buy. I also picked up men’s collared short sleeve shirts and short sleeve pocket t-shirts on clearance at Kmart for $3 each. I normally do not even shop there, but stopped in to buy a plastic laundry basket and it was also on sale for 1/2 off (Rubbermaid). The $3 shirts had 2 reductions plus 40% off of the lowest price. I guess they were left from last summer, which is fine with me.

Corelle is on sale again at Amazon. $25 for a 16 piece set and free shipping!
Just shoplifted a san disc pen drive :).

Don’t look at me like that, I needed it!

Sad day. ^^^^ Won’t be a “good buy” when you get caught or when your conscience gets the best of you.

People like that don’t usually have a conscience, unfortunately… :(

I was going through the sale racks at Marshall’s on Friday and found a pair of darkwash, bootcut Seven for All Mankind jeans in my size marked down to $39. Just last week I told my DD that I needed a new cute pair of darkwash jeans for this spring.

Yesterday DD found a dress for her semi formal dance this coming weekend for $25 at Nordstrom Rack. It was the cutest of all the dresses she has tried on and was marked down 3 times. The shoes to go with the dress will probably set me back twice what the dress cost!

AirFares - Several times my Southwest Air fares have dropped post booking. If you catch the drop, you can re-book and then have a credit on your account which is good for a year.

The last time was for a Jan flight to Fla. I booked on a Sunday and checked the fares the next day and it had dropped about $20 or so. I took the credit.
Also - you don’t have to re-book the same flight. If a flight that leaves earlier or later than yours drops you can re-book to that as well. No penalty, take the credit and you have a year to use it.

I hope someday soon you will add “feeling good about myself as a human being” to your list of needs.
