My D who is a junior just bought these last week online after trying them on at DSW - they didn’t have her size and online shipping was free. They were the perfect solution for fashionable, not grandma shoes but easy to walk in all day (she’s headed out of town to a big conference)

I felt like I was robbing Macy’s today! I got DD a very cool puffer coat by Seven which looks like a short puffer over a sweater, except the sweater part is actually part of the coat! I thought the price was decent, but it turned out it was additional 40% off! Awesome! Then I stopped by Nordy’s and experienced the madness of their shoe sale. I got out with two boxes, and, finally, the shoes are not black!

I knew you would come through. She ordered the Calvin Klein pair. She felt they were professional and would serve many purposes.
I had found the Circa Joan and David pump at the Nordstrom site and she liked it but was unsure about the top detail. I liked the them and they were cheaper. We compromised and we are splitting the cost. We both liked the Anne Klein shoe but she felt suede or patent was not professional enough. I would have gone for the suede but she is the one wearing them.

mom60, I’m glad she found what she liked! Zappos is great, and you can ship the shoes back at no charge if they don’t fit. Macy’s has the same shoe on their website, but you can’t use their coupons towrads Calvin Klein purchases. :(

If anyone needs a backpack with wheels that supposedly meets the dimensions for most airlines, Lands End has one on sale. Regular price was 129.50. It is reduced to 49.99 plus tax. I was able to get someone to authorize a waiver on the shipping fee (they seem to have free shipping with an order of $50 or more). I thought it looked nice for the price and I did not get it monogramed, so if we do not like it we can return it.

Nice. Thanks. Thinking of if this would be used by my senior S for his senior trip this year or for weekend trips back and forth next year… he’s so used to duffles for his limited traveling…do you think your sons would use this??? I don’t see him being a regular luggage kind of guy…

Well, for a school trip, if it were by bus, my son would take a small duffle. I bought this for airport use when he goes to college. I want him to be able to wheel it or carry it on his back (if he has another piece of luggage to wheel). In the meantime, I don’t know where he is going to college yet, but I do know that he will be flying, regardless of where he ends up! If my son were flying somewhere on a senior trip, I think he’d use this if I handed to him. He would be willing to take a traditional piece of luggage too, if it were small, but he would not be too happy about it. I do think that he’d prefer either a duffle or a backpack.

How many sticks are you carrying? I just use a standard Wilson Six-Pack and carry three Pro-Staffs with me and use the other compartment for balls, drinks and clothes. I think that most of the tour bags can be used as backpacks, or they can be slung or carried by hand with the single handle.

Southwest Airlines just posted very cheap fares in and out of Philly. $90 each way to and from Los Angeles, Burbank or Orange County. Dates are restricted and you have to book quickly…but it’s a deal for someone!

If I recall this correctly, someone was looking for a pair of Hudson jeans under $100. I was at the Bill Gates’ neighborhood Macy’s, and saw racks of premium denim discounted about 50% - lots of Joe’s and Hudsons for $60-80 after the discounts! I found a super cute Free People dress for DD - 75% off! So check you local Macy’s and do not forget your 20% off coupon (or use you Macy’s card).

Just bought two tickets at fairly reasonable fares to see son graduate in two months. Unfortunately it was a bit cheaper a week ago (waited too long trying to get fare to drop further), but at least I bought it with points instead of paying cash, so it was less painful to have the price increase.

The other day, bought corned beef @ $.99/pound & cabbage @ $.14/pound. Tuna was 3 cans for $1, so I bought 12 cans for the local foodbank. Spaghetti sauce was a large can for $.79, so I bought some of that for the foodbank as well.

HIMom, the airfares from our neck of the woods to your beautiful state have been amazing! Even DD will spend her spring break money snorkeling and sunbathing on the beaches in HI instead of Cancun ! She and her friends might not have enough money to make a dent in your recession, but DH and I will be coming to Honolulu for another little break in a few months…
