Man, Woot won’t ship to HI! Argh! I guess it wasn’t meant to be. It does look cool. Am not going to twist myself into contortions to get these if they don’t want to send them to us in HI. :(

For anyone looking at blueray/DVD for the holidays, I just got a wonderful little message from my friends at Amazon. My pre-order price was lowered to release price today at $17.99. Yippee!

Clarks shoe store @Tanger Outlet on LI: I bought a pair of angle high women’s casual boots for $69.99–Clarks Nikki North. On Zappos, the same boots are $110.00.

I bought a $44.00 Flannel Shirt @Pacific Sunwear on sale for $19.99. I also bought one pair of Slim Cut Khaki colored jeans (they had a deal–buy one pair of jeans, get another for $15).
However, I only bought one pair. They gave me a $25.00 gift card to use towards the purchase of $50 or more of merchandise between Dec. 11th-Jan 2nd.

Used a $10 off any purchase at Victoria Secret. Usually the little cards are just for use on a bra. This one was good for most anything in the store.

Speaking of Victoria’s Secrets…I loved their high-top briefs for years. The ones that are often 5 for $20 in various colors/prints. Then, rudely, the high-top became much lower. I can’t stand them. Anyone have a recommendation for a replacement brand? I have tried many kinds and none are as comfortable as the old-style VS ones.

Can’t help you with the VS undies, allthisisnewtome, I’m a jockey gal myself. I like them because they never give you wedgies or show a pantyline.

@AllThisIsNewToMe, I agree about the VS Hi Rise undies. My new favorte is the Gap Body High Cut Panties, great fit and really comfy, just have to wait for them to go on sale.

Sent the oldest child an electric throw & flannel pajamas from JC Penney online.
Used a promotional card I received in mail: code was “DASHER”. (good on 8th & 9th)
Total savings was $74.01… Child’s first winter in this apartment.

SLUMOM - hope you don´t mind me saying this…I am always weary of having anything electric near me. I don´t believe electric current is good for people. When I was pregnant, my doctor told me not to be too close to computers, printers at work because he didn´t think they would be too good for the baby. I am a bit anal, I don´t let my kids put laptop on their lap, or sit too close to TV. We don´t use electric blankets at home.

Great thread! I am looking for a snow blower to replace my lightly used 3 year old one I got from Sears (stopped working last year). It seems to me these gadgets rarely go on deep sale. Anyone has recommendations? I live in the mid-Atlantic area so the snow is not as bad as in New England but still can be brutal at times, so I need a reasonably powerful one.

oldfort, we gave away two electric blankets we had received as wedding presents, with dual controls, as we didn’t like them (being pregnant with 4, wasn’t a good idea for pregnant women) Plus cats that like to “Knead the dough” with their paws!

This child is single & out of school & asked for an electric throw, as opposed to using a space heater. I don’t know which is worse, a space heater or an electric throw! :)

Benley, be careful, H met a neighbor up at the dump looking for a gear box for a snowblower as the one he purchased at Lowe’s or Home Depot did not have sufficient one for a 7 horse power snow blower, it wore out! A big box store may sell snowblowers that internally are cheap & with wrong parts.

We have always bought snowblowers at a local place like Tru Value store which also sells & services them for you! Lawn Mowers too! Need at least 7 horse power because of the weight of the snow, doesn’t matter where you live.

The VC underwear were for my D’s. I have switched and love the Shimera brand from Nordstrom. It is one of their store brands. They buy them when they have their sale. I also have found them at the Rack. Comfortable, they don’t show and they last. Apology to any men on this thread.

Our family is a fan of the underwear at Costco; 6 for $10. They last pretty well and are comfortable & don’t show. D took some when she was scrambling around to pack last time before she flew back to her U for the fall. She thought they were surprisingly nice. Apologies to the men as well.

The problem with the Costco underwear is they don’t come in an extra small.I used to buy an older style of Calvin Klein underwear from Costco but they changed the style and I did not find the new style comfortable. My grip with their men’s boxers is they are knit. I do love the Calvin Klein tank tops for women from Costco. I wear them under my sweaters.
