Your Name

You guys don't need to be so shy about saying your name, lol. Just your first name will suffice.

^ I'm the only one in the whole world with such a weird name. I swear, if you google my first name it'll come up with hits all pointing to me.

^^^ Ch

My boyfriend is a Patel, and I'm looking forward to marrying him and subsequently getting my PhD; then, when people hear that my name is "Dr. Patel," they'll expect an Indian man and will be shocked to see a white woman. >:]

...Such is my only life plan.

Bahahah. I used to be dead set on marrying this guy with the last name of Beers. But I couldn't really imagine ever getting a really good job or anything as Mrs. Beers... lol. So I've sort of given up on that.

I'm Lindsay :] ... which is always spelled wrong... :[

I love my first name and my last name. My middle name is nothing to be ashamed of on anyone else, but I'm named for a relative with whom I disagree about almost every thing, so I really wish my parents had named me after some one else.

Well, my whole name is Robert Gregory Madden.

While I was growing up, I was known as either Robert or Robbie. Robbie by my parents and certain friends, while I was known as Robert my classmates and people I kind of knew.

Then, after a big discussion, I decided to go by Rob starting the first day if Freshman year, because I always thought the name Robert was...ugly? Anyways, all the older kids and teacher called me it, while kids in my grade had mixed feelings. However, by the end of the year, everyone except my parents, my brother, and a few girls who were determined to call me Robert, called my Rob.

However, I don't like the name Rob too much, because it sounds like that of a 40-year-old man who lives with his mother. So, I am debating whether, when I enter college, I should keep the name Rob, or change it to Greg, a variation of my middle name. What do you all think?

I know this is a long post for such a simple topic, but I was talking about this to some friends a couple days ago.

^ Ha, I sound so airheaded.

Lol. Um. Whatever you feel most comfortable with...

I think Rob's kinda cool; it's easy to say and makes me think of criminals. Which is cool? ... I need sleep. But Greg is nice, too.

^^ Your name sounds really distinguished, and you should be proud to have the last name of such a football icon. Anyway, I think Robbie sounds the best.

I've always disliked my name. It always elicits the kind of reaction that people just don't want to cope with it. Or see...or hear it.

...I wish I had a normal name.

Please tease us.

Srsly. You can't just SAY that and not give us any more info.

edit: Found Modulation's name on the CC facebook group. Unintentionally, I promise!

edit2: I'm going on a friending rampage. Cherie136, I sent you a request and forgot to say who I was, so don't get freaked out.

jk_91, I know. I wish I were related to John Madden. Then, I could see all the football games I wanted, be rich, and even get into an amazing school, because I am sure he would have "connections." HAHAHHAHAH!

People called me by my middle name, but it suddenly changed to my first name the first day at my new middle school. Took me two weeks to remind myself to use the first, not the middle name.

I hate my middle name. :(
Its a boy's name. (Im A Girl)
And I have never met anyone with that name.
I seriously think its the weirdest name ever.

My first and last name I like. :D
I just get annoyed when they spell
my name "Anna" and not "Ana"

My name's Brie. I like it- short, simple, and sweet. Unfortunately everyone I meet says something along the lines of "Oh, like the cheese?"

I gave myself my middle name when i was in sixth grade. i didn't have one, so i asked my mom what she would name another daughter if she had one. she told me ones she liked and i picked my favorite- Ava. she doesn't know i use it as a middle name.

my last name is hyphenated. both names are insanely long, impossible to pronounce, and incredibly unique. my mom's last name (and the first part of my last name) is french, 12 letters long. lots of silent letters in that one. my dad's last name is so unique, only members of our close family have it. it's a mutation of the romanian word for "where are you going" lol.

btw, i really like the name cherie.

My name is Megan, and I've never liked it - it's so common and bland. But I like Meg even less, and my middle name, Michele, is just as common and has the added problem of people spelling it wrong (not that my name doesn't get spelled wrong all the time), so I go by Megan. And my last name is boring, too. Luckily my boyfriend's last name is a little more interesting (though no one ever pronounces it right on the first try!) so I at least have that to look forward to. ;D

I have the most common last name in the world (Li).

My first name is very unique and it tends to be mispronounced by monolingual people.

So I just go by a common English name all the time.

I like my name, although my initials are awkward (REE)...
