Your Name

Do you like your full name? Do you tend to go by your middle name instead of your first name? Any other name you go by?

Just for fun thread. Hopefully this one doesn't get deleted like my Worst First Date one.

I like my full name all right, and I go by my first name usually. However, lots of people call me by my last name for some reason. lol.

I usually go by a shortened formed of my first name- only people who don't know me very well call me by my full name. Some of my friends call me by my last name, but that's only a couple and I'm not sure what got them started on that. But it doesn't bother me, so whatever floats their boat.

I like my full name a lot. Although some people try to shorten it by calling me a nickname that is typically associated with my name. Which really bugs me. My name isn't hard to pronounce like some Indian or Chines names. It's simple and straight forward but ppl still insist on referring to me that way. Ugh!

My first name is waaaay too common, but it's the type of name there aren't many nicknames for, so I'm stuck with it. I love my middle name, mostly because it's not a normal female first name, like a lot of girls I know have...instead, it's more like a last name. Then my last name is also kinda common.

I hate my middle name. Its not that bad, but I just dislike it so I rarely tell people what it is. I think my first name is cool though since I can manipulate the spelling and make a cool symbol out of it. It's not that common either. My full name flows, so I guess it's ok.

my full name is really long...aghhh...why couldn't my parts named me something shorter

I go by my first name (Kate), or a shortened version (Kat). People like to elongate my name. People like to turn it into Katie, Katelyn, Kathryn, etc. I HATE that! Rawr. It's especially annoying when teachers ask what my "real" name is, as if Kate is ONLY a nickname.

The only thing I don't like my name is that it's SOO Irish and I have less Irish in me than any other heritage. I mean Kate O'(blank) is about as Irish as it comes.

I have the opposite problem of many of the above posters: My actual name sounds like a nickname, so people constantly assume that my "real name" is the common name which my real name is sometimes used as a nickname for.

My name itself is fine; as some dead French guy said-and-was-translated, "Hell is other people."

My first name is clunky and uncommon (it's an English word), so introducing myself is a more difficult matter than it could be. My last name is cool-sounding, but in the language from which it's derived, it means "small woman."

karajanhra, I feel your pain lmao.

I love my name.

My whole name is four letters. I love it because I always finish bubbling my name on standardized tests really early when the Elizabeth Marie Andersons take 10 min to bubble their names...

Oh anybody else have the apostrophe issue? I hate that about my last name. Often times the apostrophe will come up as an error or there will be nowhere to put it. It's very troublesome. Does anybody else have to deal with that?

Also my first name sounds like the noise cows make and my last name is a pronoun. Sighs...

My name is wayy too common. Common (biblical) first name; common Asian last name. That's why on facebook I put my middle name down as well! My family calls me by my middle name (because it's my Korean name), and everyone else calls me by a shortening of my first name. I'm almost never called by my last name.

@ Modulation. I really want to know what your name is. D: Moo She?

And another thing. There are two common variations of my name (Sara/Sarah). I'm Sara, and people I've known forever still put that h there. The teachers writing my college recommendations will probably forget to check and call me "Sarah" the whole time.

Sometimes I'm really annoyed by it, and other times I'm not.

Nah, she said it's four letters, right? So it'd have to be Mu He? I think.

I wish I had a more common name. Making doctor's appointment or anything else, actually, is such a pain since I have to spell out every single letter. My name is often misspelt too.

First day of school, obviously, is horrible for people with weird names.

Okay, Modulation's name really got me interested. Haha I bet she is regretting revealing so much about her name now :D

I love my name. Well. My first && middle. I go by my first... my last name I'm not crazy about.
but. Kayleigh Cheyenne- i love.
