my mom wanted to name me john, even though they knew i was a girl. my dad talked her out of that one.

^ Wth? Never heard of that one before.

My first name's wayy too long. Alexandria. :P
I like my nickname though, Xana.

I hate my first name. Yeuch. Only my grandmother calls me that, and even then, she calls me by my first and middle names together. The rest of the time, I go by my middle name, or it's shortened version, Mir/Mira.

At school, people usually call me by my first and last names. I guess it's because they are both short and go together well.

My first name is fine. It's Indian, but it sounds like a rahter common name here, so people always spell it wrong. I like my middle name better, but I don't really use it. My last name is a somewhat common Gujurati name, but it's by no means close to Shah or Patel, or even Mehta, in that respect.

I have the same first and middle name of a children's book character (Big Red Dog, anyone?) and so I rarely tell people my middle name unless they ask. I like it, because my initials spell a word, which I think is cool, but my name (when I was born) was the number one most popular girls name. Bleh.

My initials spell a word, too..."SANK". (I have two middle names.)

That's kind of ominous.

My first name is too feminine although I like it starts with "J", my favorite letter.

I hate my initials. KOC. Sound it out.
Yeah... I used to get SOO made fun of. Plus, one of my friends figured it out freshman year and screamed in the middle of class "OMG! You're initials spell ***!"

pfft, mine is BO.

When you put my first and last names together, the word "ass" magically appears. Lovely.

The parents of my friends actually made up her name. She's literally the only person in the world who has it - when you Google it, you find her.

^ I met a girl about a year ago whose parents played Scrabble to get her name. They grabbed some letters and scrambled them up. I REALLY wish I remembered her name, it was actually really pretty.

I'm surprised I haven't noticed this thread yet. Ugh, the sleeping.

My name's fairly common, so I go by a shortened nickname. Last name is somewhat ambiguous. somewhat...
Middle name is also somewhat ambiguous. Not bad.

Well my first name is Mary Jane so of course first i get the drug jokes and then occasionally the spiderman jokes. Its hilarious how my teachers think my parents were high when they named me. I mean I love my name but having to explain to people why i dont like being called just mary and then the whole non believing that its my real name can **** a person off too.

I hate my middle name and I never use it, though its very uncommon and my last name even more uncommon means smokeriver in some language.

i really don't like my name
well my full name isnt that bad, its a common indian name--but nobody can pronounce it so they shorten it
I'd like to change it. I don't have a middle name, so I'm considering adding a middle name and then going by that during college or something.

i think the most troublesome part in doing that would be facebook. what would you do!? you can't change your name....

lol actually you can change your name on facebook as long as it isnt something whack. I mean I changed mine from a nickname to my real name. You just go under account settings in the top right corner and you can change your name.

My first name is far too common, but I use it nonetheless. People who are closest to me can use the first two letters.

My middle name is "plain."

My last name seems to aggravate people. I have basically the same last name as a major television talk show host, but with a double vowel that forms the sound of another vowel, and an extra consonant that people seem to drop frequently. sigh

I go by my middle name. I have since birth. There was a umm...mishap in the delivery room and instead of changing it, my parents just decided to go with my middle name which I absolutly love because it's pretty uncommon. I hateee my first name, though.

My initials spell a word.

I like my full name. My middle name is one that's actually inspired some knick-names, but not ones that I'm actually called by. People usually call me (and I prefer to go by) my full first name. My friends use a shortened version of my name (since a lot of people have the same name in my school) and occasionally use a combination of the shortened version of my name and a pet-name I once told them my aunt and mom called me by.

Also, my name has several different ways of spelling, and everyone always gets mine wrong (save for family and close friends). It's really simple, but they get it wrong. And imagine my shock when one teacher got my first name right and last name wrong, which no one has ever done before. I can never win.... :P
