Digimon isn’t really a knockoff of pokemon. Personally I think that would’ve been a good show if it was introduced maybe a few years back. The show lost interest especially because of the fact it was related to technology, and as time passed the technology of the real world was matching that of the show (and children want a mythical land set in a mythical place, not a second dimension into another world where you can switch back and forth. where’s the fun in that ): )

Pokemon ftw. I admit I have about 500 Yugioh cards still lying around in a huge box. I made a personalized deck and everything. The show was just a lot more attention grabbing in my opinion. I mean, short dude with huge hair carrying around this bigass pyramid on his neck. I’d like to see that show.

Pokemon shows died in quality after the Johto series. I still think the games were good until sapphire (and i loved pokemon colosseum XD the only game i had from pokemon on gamecube)
but the concept was phenomenal. whoever made these pokemon and all their traits and moves… god that was amazing. did you know mew was actually not approved by the creator of pokemon? the creator’s partner? or someone in a high position programmed mew into the game without telling anyone, and after it became popular that a “secret pokemon” was in the game, nintendo got hyped and did all this marketing stuff to make extra cash. pathetic story i know XD

I have to go with Pokemon because it has better movies, better video games, and because I got my Yugioh cards stolen when I was a kid.

Pokemon is better than Yugioh because even now, the games (and that includes the card game if you can find somebody to play it with and the right cards) are still interesting and fun.

Both shows were pretty decent at first then spiraled out of control with non-stop marketing and confusing yet repetitive story lines. One problem, especially with Yugi-oh, is that it often seemed like they were making it up as they were going along.

TV: Pokemon (slightly)
Card Game: Magic pwns all
Video game: obviously pokemon
TV show spoof: Yugioh the abridged series

Pokemon wins hands down

lol nice bumping my thread.

pokemon ftw, anime guys are hot, lol

Pokemon was the first one I was into… back in 1st grade I think.

But anyway:

Video Game: Pokemon. Duh. I could still play that now if I wanted to.
Cards: Yu-Gi-Oh! The game was more interesting, and I always remember playing it on the school bus with other kids! I’m not sure if I ever actually learned how to play the pokemon card game the right way.
TV Show: This is tough, but I’ll go with Yu-Gi-Oh! I watched both on Saturday mornings, but I guess Yu-Gi-Oh! had more “action” so to speak. I also always wondered what were those white things that the characters would always eat in pokemon???

Overall, I’d have to go with pokemon just for the video game. It was amazing.

Pokemon and Yugioh were never a “pick” back in the days. Pokemon comes first in a person’s childhood, then s/he transitions into Yugioh.

But retrospectively speaking, Pokemon holds more of a sentimental/childhood memory.

So, while I can’t directly verse them, I will have to choose pokemon for its integral part in my childhood. ( I don’t know why, but for some reason, when I think about childhood cartoon/anime icons, right away, I think of Pikachu, not Dark Magician or some crap)

Pokemon easily

TV: Pokemon…Ash was super hot with his raspy voice. And anime guys just pwn in general.Yu-Gi-Oh guys just weren’t as up to par imo, didn’t dig the really spiky hair look
Card Game: Yugioh…it was just more fun…
Video game: Pokemon hands down

pokemon pwns.

“Charizard attacks your life points.”

Now what do you do?

Eric Stuart was the voice actor for both Seto Kaiba and Brock, and since Kaiba was infinitely sexier than Brock, I’d have to say that Yu-Gi-Oh! wins. ;D

^ I heard Brock’s “pocket monster” is as hard as a rock.

;)

TV: Pokemon
Card Game: Both Yigioh and Pokemon TCGs were kind of lame, Magic: The Gathering was by far the best.
Game: Pokemon

Hmmm.

Show: Digimon (ha! But between Pokemon and Yugioh, I’d give it to the former, at least for the first season or two)
Electronic Games: Pokemon, easily
Card Games (playing the 1v1 duels): Yugioh, greater complexity/variety made it a bit more interesting
Card Games (collecting them): Pokemon

On recent news, I found this recent (pokemon related) article on Collegehumor amusing: [“Diary of a Charmander” by Brad Einstein on CollegeHumor](<a href=“Dropout - Independent, ad-free, uncensored comedy | Dropout”>Dropout - Independent, ad-free, uncensored comedy | Dropout)

Pok

Pokemon, surely!
