I am about to send my AP scores (USH-3, Phys B- 3) in for a rescore because the university I want to go to only accepts 4's or better. If both turn out to be 4's I will get 16 college credits rather than 0.

Anyone get their AP grades rescored and have them go up?

My friend had her stats score rescored (or art I can't remember), and it went from a four to a five. CC said it was because of "inconsistent MC packets and answer sheets," or something like that. Good luck.

i remember reading about a person who had their US History grade moved from a 2 to a 5. I think college board misplaced his essays so his exam grade was based solely on the multiple choice portion

Rescoring isn't like rolling the dice another time. It's getting the same exact test checked over again. To be honest, you better hope your score DOESN'T change, especially by one point, because that means the College Board is grading them wrong and not noticing it.

Is it really that hard to understand? Rescoring is for huge errors; it's for people who get a one in a subject they studied hard for and are sure they couldn't have messed up that bad. Sure enough to expect a major problem with the machine that graded it.

It's not for people who are unhappy with their scores and think that they will change if they stare at them long enough. Geez...

When i received my ap scores, i was shocked to see a 1 among the 4's and 5's. I'm not terribly good at US history, but how possible is it to get a 1 after staying awake for a year of US history? Am i a good candidate for a rescore?

mindlessmusings --- if ur truly that appaled, uve got nothing to lose besides money (which ur parents will likely supply). there might have been a major grading error and that can drastically affect your score. in this case, its only going up, so i recommend it, especially among the 4's and 5's u got.

I think if u rescore a test and there is a change in your score, CC should not charge u anything. Its their fault for something that is very big. Expecially in the case of a person who got a 1 but studied for the class.

In 2006 my son had scores in bio and geo raised from 3s to 5s. He didn't ask for rescore but was notifed in late September that the College Board screwed up and didn't count one portion on the exams.

Keep in mind, however, that if they did make a mistake with your mark, the correct mark won't necessarily be higher than the wrong one.

Yeah, so when you're offering the College Board some money to re-correct a test, they will definitely care about the motives behind your choice to have it rescored.

Last year my daughter got 2 on APUSH. When we ordered her free response booklet, we found out the free response was lost. It took pointed questions and firm persistance to get this resolved. She opted to take a 4, which based her FR score on the MC score. Bottom line if you suspect something like this...call and insist on verifying that the FR isn't coded "missing." I would have thought Collegeboard would question this themselves.

I am also in mindlessmusings' situation. I scored a measly 2 on the US Hist test, but I know I did way better than to warrant just a 2.

Anyways, I saw on CC's website that they only rescore the MC, which is silly imo. What if they messed up on scoring the FR?

Anyways, I am about to contact them for a rescore, but I want to know if they lost my FR somehow, and if that attributed to my 2. Do I just ask, or do they tell you?

^ same thing happened to me. I got a 2 when I am 100% sure I should have gotten a 5 on that test. I got 800 on Us History SAT 2 so yea... I'm going to call them and see what i can do about it. They definitely messed up
