11 DAYS to make this decision...PLEASE HELP!!

<p>Let me just say this first...any advice that anyone has is sincerely appreciated! And I promise to reciprocate in any way that I can for anyone who responds to this thread. Seriously.</p>

<p>With a 3.12 gpa at UCSC, what are my chances for transferring anywhere? would any school take me? would it be better for me to take a quarter off and go to a cc (where I would definitely succeed), or go back to UCSC (where I am unhappy)? Ideally, I'd like to transfer to SUNY Binghamton or maybe U of Pitt...I will go back to UCSC if that's what it takes but I'd rather not pay to be unhappy in a place that doesn't even offer one of the majors I am considering.
My GPA does have an upward trend, and I did fairly well in hs--3.8 gpa; 1910 SAT; varsity field hockey. I know that I can do much better at UCSC if I go back...but also am positive that if I went to a cc I would get a 4.0 and be happier. Any advice?</p>

<p>i wish! but no, CA born and raised. and after weighing my options i think it would be best to go back to UCSC and transfer next year…maybe this spring. i was kind of in crisis mode when i made this thread and i’d been second-guessing my current major (anthropology) due to a really boring and uninspiring class i took in the spring. but after thinking about it, i want to stick with the anth., pull my gpa up, get involved with some ecs, and go from there. and i’m prepared for the worst at santa cruz (unlike last year) and i’ll survive.
