2 Bd/8 Person Westwood Chateau University Apartment Experience

Hi Guys, I’m an upcoming transfer student who got offered a “2 Bd/8 Person” room at the Westwood Chateau University Apartment. While I’m happy I got an apartment to live in (it’s what I wanted since I’m a diabetic so having a refrigerator to store my medicine and being able to make meals whenever I need to really eases my mind), I’m not too sure about the “2 Bd/8 Person” thing. I’ve always been an introvert; a single child with no siblings or roommates so I am not yet comfortable with living with others.

I spent hours trying to research the room or the apartment in general but there’s literally no information on the UCLA’s website or anywhere else describing this particular apartment, except for a few forum posts. The Westwood Chateau website (http://www.housing.ucla.edu/roomsignup/Westwood-Chateau.htm) does not even list a “2 Bd/8 Person”. If you or someone you know has lived in this apartment and/or room, please share your/their experience with me.

From “2 Bd/8 Person”, I can only assume this apartment will have 2 bedrooms with 8 occupants. Not sure how many bathrooms, or refrigerators, or beds there are. That seems way too hectic to me. I had to come to terms with living with one roommate, but 7 more? I don’t know If I can do it. I’ve been looking for other alternatives such as renting an non-university apartment or filing an appeal to the Disabled Students Housing Appeals Board but I’m unsure how that’s going to go.

What do you guys suggest?

If you appeal and get a single in a dorm you will have to pay for it. If you had disability needs you should have done it earlier since most singles are probably filled at this point. If you rent an apartment outside of the university you’ll still have a lot of roomates. Rent in Westwood is typically 5k a month. The 2bd 8 person I believe has 8 roomates plus 2 bathrooms.

Hey I am also living in the apartment in WC for 2bd/8ppl! SO most likely we will be roommates unless you switch! When you did the housing application did you click that as your first option, just curious to know!

How is the apartment? Is it one or two bathrooms? How are the bedrooms setup?
