<p>Maryland essay -i need help </p>

<p>I really need help with the UMD essay...this stuff is so complicated and difficult. </p>

<p>Im trying to do the "what is ur something essay"</p>

<p>but i dont even know what theyre looking for! what did henry david thoreau even mean when he said that? how am i supposed to knwo what my something is ...im just 17. </p>

<p>should i talk about my leadership and be like my something is to utilize my leadership skills to help benefit as most poeple as possible and influence positivly and make good changes with my postiions?</p>

<p>what are my chances, particluarly for business school smith undergrad</p>

<p>uw gpa 90
3 ap's senior year, no ap's before that , but a good amount of honors classes throughout highschool
upward trend
no honors math classes
sat: 680,680,
sat2history 700
sat writing section: 800
lots of ec's with tons of good leadership. </p>

<p>In my opinion, I think what they are looking for is what is unique about you that they don’t get from just looking at your numbers. What is special about you that will be a positive addition to the university’s student population? If you go with the leadership topic, my personal feeling is to be specific in what you have done and/or what you will do, because it could end up being too vague. If you don’t know what your “something” is or could be, you might want to choose another topic.</p>

<p>As for admission, your SAT’s are good, but your GPA and course rigor are on the lower end, especially for OOS. I don’t think you could call it a safety, but perhaps a “target.” Good luck.</p>
