I won't type out the enitre laundry list, but will still give the essentials
-Competitive MD public school (nationally ranked)
-3.4 GPA unweighted
-13 AP classes taken
-Many ECs, which are both diverse yet somewhat career oriented (3-4 leadership positions)
-One varsity sport
-33 ACT/ SAT TBD
-Essays should be good.
-Recs will be stellar
-Trilingual

Really, my question is if the 3.4 GPA will hold me back, given the other stats. I would be applying to Smith Business, if it matters.

Thanks for your chance. I can chance back if a link is provided

You should get in to your LEP but you may not get honors. If your GPA was 3.8+ unweighted and had that ACT you would be in honors. You should atleast get scholars though. You did not mention your rank. Good Luck.

Thanks for your reply. My county does not rank. Would that make a difference?

If your school doesn’t rank, Maryland does not count that against you. The largest school system in Maryland doesn’t rank its students. I can assure you that plenty of Montgomery County students attend UMCP.

Thanks MdDad, what do you think of my chances?

I think you have a pretty good shot. Your ACT and class rigor probably outweigh your GPA.

The GPA may affect your chances of getting directly into Smith, but I think you’ll be accepted.

I would say you will get in.

Similar GPA, similar ACT scores, and tons of EC leadership like yourself and I got into Smith (and Scholars) as a Freshman.

what % of applicants are admitted directly to Smith and how hard is in to get in if you are not admitted right away?

anyone in the business school or knows about smith know the answer??

It looks like you could handle it… I would accept you if that matters ;)
